Monday Media: Mario, Gattis and Steele

He’s not sugarcoating it’s the truth. That’s the problem with people in this world, want to live in a factious reality like their sh*t don’t stank. And in that same vein he said he has to continue to push and develop guys

maybe we can pull an old time miami classic
and have our punter pull double duty
hedley stock is tanking this year since hes rarely punting now
hes played rugby line him up out wide hahahah

Would you be? They can't catch, they aren't good blockers, they are taking up space. Honestly, Miami may be better off running 2-3 TEs instead and flexing Mallory out, or using Rooster and Parrish together, with Rooster as more of a slot guy on some packages...
Yep. If Gattis wants to play to our strengths then use 22 personnel. We play in a **** phone booth anyway.

Let's me clear here for the record. The are NUMEROUS college teams that make their rosters work on the field with 2 and 3 star players. They can, field, and run the ball. After listening to Gattis my conclusion is he is a man of poor football character. He is one of the main reasons we lost and he sounds like a CHARLATAN. Make it work GATTIS because that's your job! What are joker.

💯💯💯💯💯

This is not the type of talk we ought to be hearing.
What do you expect him to say publicly? His WR’s suck balls? He is saying that without saying it. Plus, he’s not lying.

Now, my beef with Gaddis is, if you did your HW, you would have realized the lack of talent and depth we have at WR, then why didn’t you pursue other WR’s in January and February?

And Key bro. Key is fast and had 2 steps in 1:1 coverage twice on vertical routes last week that TVD threw to him and missed. He also had the mistimed throw on the comeback route.

Need the timing to improve between those two
Did you ever think that maybe Key ran the wrong route? Or ran the route incorrectly? I know u think Garcia is the answer - not sure why

Gattis doesn’t like our WR room then why didn’t he land a better transfer?

Also, they can drop 8 back but when you only have 10 yards to go, some of the 8 are in the box so you have to throw outside or play action.

George and TVD need to work together after practice. He should be his #1 WR, IMO. The Smith drop happens; I think the more he plays, the better he will get. The kid showed grit in the blocking game and has made a few plays already early in the season
George has real shake compared to the rest of the group

Yeah I absolutely think it’s possible Key ran the wrong route. I didn’t say it was TVD’s fault, I said he missed him. Whoever’s fault it is doesn’t matter they need to get their timing down so that they can both be in sync

I believe in Jake and want to see him get a shot if TVD continues to struggle like he has. But I don’t really think he will I think the team and coaches are sticking with Tyler and I’m ok with it, but receivers and their QB need to be in sync and they aren’t now.

I know it’s a new scheme but need to be in sync on (all of but especially the most) common routes: vertical, comeback, etc

They did go after multiple WRs. For whatever reason it didn’t work out. I think it has something to do with Mario and his offensive rep, and battling big time school, outside of Zay Flowers

They went after 3 big time portal guys before the spring.
And missed! Those weren’t the only 3 to transfer. Overall, we likely missed on 5-10 better WR than Ladson. Then we have the 22 class with Horton as our best WR. Then we have the 23 class with no big kids that will win one on one in the red zone.

6 WRs means that Colbie Young and Isaiah Horton either vanished from campus or are otherwise unavailable.

Does anyone have an update on Horton?

That's a concern and it reminds me of the text message he sent to the Michigan players after he left to come here.

In a text to some Michigan players, Josh Gattis said, “Unfortunately the past few weeks has told a different story to me about the very little appreciation I have here from administration. In life I would never advise anyone to be where they are not wanted…”

Bashing a former employer isn't ever a good look. It's not professional. And in a world where coaches preach to players about owning up to your mistakes and doing your job and not making excuses, I wasn't a fan of that alleged text.
Were you a man in a past life? Certainly aren't one now.
