Modernize Our Uniforms While You're At It, Manny

Offense: Modern
Defense: Modern
Uniforms: Throwback?

Our program is clearly heading in a more modern direction and our appearance should reflect that; maybe use the throwbacks we wear now as an alternate. Under Nike Miami was an innovator when it came to uniform appearance but Mark Richt sent the whole program back to the 80's with Adidas. We need any advantage we can get, and believe it or not, up-to-date uniforms is a factor when it comes to high school recruits deciding on a school (unless you're Bama and have the bags). Look at Oregon, uniforms are a big reason they are a national brand.

Does Manny D/Blake James tell Adidas the vision they have for our uniforms and Adidas produces it or how does that work?

This is actually a good observation. Mark richt did everything in his power to make the team look like his era. For f*ck sakes, the team wears tube socks.

Wouldn't mind if he let the kids wear what they want with the uniforms i.e. socks, shoes, sleeves. Even schools with traditional unis let the players do that.

Case Closed. Classic Canes Unis are the best and most easily recognized in college football .. NO OREGON-STYLE bull**** needed

This is actually something I didn't think of. Let the players were sleeves if they want.

You know what schools are REAL Effin’ brands? Bama, Texas, LSU, USC, Penn State, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan and Ohio State. Do any of them ever abandon their classic looks for more than a game or two? No they do not. **** on Oregon!

Just a heads up for the fashionistas here: The players choose the uniform colors they wear for each game. If they're wearing green/green with striped tube socks, it's because that's what they voted to wear. We're talking about 18-22 year old kids here.

ADIDAS showed us the bags which helps us build better facilities and etc. Winning is the biggest factor of attracting the Elite not uniforms just ask Nick Saban and Alabama.

NIKE is also based in OREGON btw.

Ohio state has alternate uniforms every year

He said "abandon their classic looks for more than a game or two". The black or gray alternate uni that OSU wears once a year falls into that criteria. Just like Miami wears a black uni once or twice a year.
