Mississippi State

The metrics (rpi, rankings, etc.) consistently show MSU as a top 5 team and Ole Miss somewhere around 15 to 20, and Miami also around 15 to 20 and Illinois around 30. Simple bracketing principles when 16 teams get seeded as the same number would indicate a high 1 seed gets a low 2 seed and a low 1 seed gets a high 2 seed.

If you're going to say geography trumps that, fine, but both Miami and Illinois were sent to the same geographic area.

People have to stop thinking that anything after #16 matters. If you're a 2, you're a 2, period.

No I'm not.playing at miss st isn't as tough as omaha is.yes the crowd at miss st is more vocal for the home team.theres more pressure playing in omaha.playing at miss st will pay great dividend to this young team.win miss st regional this team will have the confidence to win where ever they play.if your a competitor the toughest road is always the best way to go.
I'm really shocked my thinking has always been the canes can win anytime, anyplace .

What difference does it make where we play or who's seeded what.Miami doesn't have that reputation of being a powerhouse anymore.baseball and football have lost the swagger that teams around the country aren't afraid of the canes anymore.to get it back our teams are going to have to go to the toughest places against toughest opponents available to earn it back.all of our championships that we've won we beat the best available.we need to start doing that again.

Baseball is two years removed from Omaha. Based on actual results, UM's current freshman could arguably be considered the best "class" in the country. We have a top 5 class about to matriculate and another top class on paper for 2021.

Omaha is the Final Four of baseball, and UM made it quite recently. Baseball slipped from its lofty perch, but it remains elite. Making Omaha by 2021 is a must, though. That is an imperative.

Let's see how today goes. We are certainly poised to make Omaha next season with a veteran roster.
