Misconceptions about Wake

It’s Wake Forest. My god. This thread serves as a reminder we aren’t yet a dominate program like UGA/OSU

I just watched UGA obliterate a more physically talented team than Wake and their boards aren’t hyping up weak programs to make their ****** performance look better

Let’s bounce back, but not act like being in a dogfight with ******* wake forest is acceptable anymore
Wake is better than Arkansas. Wake won 9 games last year. Arkansas won 2 and lost to the team that Wake beat in its bowl game by two scores.

Are you certain Arkansas is a physically more talented team than Wake?
Elaborate and don't do the "muh, it's the SEC" thingie.

Certain? No. But i watched both games in full and Arkansas appeared to be bigger and faster

Regardless, UGA took care of business and imposed their will for 60 minutes. We consistently do not do that against inferior teams

Teaching tape my ***. Dawson called the same game he usually calls when the opposing team starts gaining momentum. This mediocre showing is because of the offense
Agreed that Dawson has done this before and will do it again, but you don't think the ****-poor tackling in the second half ALSO made this game closer than it had to be? Both can be true.

I agree. But I have more faith in Hetherman correcting the defense than Dawson calling a complete game against good competition

Arkansas is trash.

Credit where credit is due. He did a good job of throwing it where only his guy could catch it.

One problem was that we gave him enough time to do that.
But even when we didn't, he still made the most out of it.
Sometimes we just have to do exactly you said above. Give them credit.

Seriously? You think Arkansas is a more physically talented team than Wake???

Arkansas who finished 16th in the SEC last year and is 1-2 so far this year?

Arkansas whose fans are currently staging a protest and boycotting their own games because they've been losing for so long?

That Arkansas?!?

Give me a friggen break and go watch some other games.

Dude it was Gio freakin Lopez. Not Fernando Mendoza.

At times, yes. Overall I thought we did a pretty good job of getting to him.
That said, yes Gio is due some flowers.

Even if they are about even, UGA was dominant in every facet for 60 minutes. That’s the point. They rarely play down to their comp while we consistently do

Take the SEC blinders off. Arkansas is horrendous. Wake actually has a very senior team overall. They're an 8-9 win team

Do you honestly believe UGA, Ohio state, etc play down to their competition as often as we do?
I honestly believe you don't watch any other teams. Or perhaps you are just young. I will answer this question, but after this, I will not continue in an ongoing back-and-forth if it's going to be the same repetitive nonsense.

You just repeatedly said that Arkansas and Wake are even, despite me showing you evidence to the contrary.

I will admit to not watching every Ohio State game, but I have watched pretty much every UGA game for as long as I can remember, as I live in Georgia. I have been telling this board for the past two years that we are a better, more talented team than UGA.

UGA's schedule thus far in 2026 has been weaker than ours, so there is no competition for them to have "played down to" yet this year. They have played Tennessee State (FCS), Western Kentucky (G6), and Arkansas, which is a conference game but is equivalent to us playing Stanford. Both teams are bottom in their respective conferences; both UGA and Miami did their job and dominated the games.

If we look back at 2025, here are a few games I remember where UGA "played down to their competition."

Austin Peay (FCS):
UGA won 28-6.
UGA led only 14-3 at halftime, scored only 1 TD in 3rd Q, scored only 1TD in 4th Q
(Imagine the outrage if Miami had performed like this against FAMU or Bethune?!? D$'s servers would explode!)

Auburn (finished 5-7, 13th in SEC, fired HC):
UGA won 20-10.
Auburn led 10-3 at halftime.

Florida (finished 4-8, 12th in SEC, fired HC):
UGA won 24-20.
Tied 10-10 at halftime.
(Pretty sure some other CFP team dominated Florida that same season...can't recall who it was now...maybe you remember?)

Guess what? EVERY single team has games like this every single year. The 2001 Canes did. Those amazing Alabama-Saban teams did every year too. No one is infallible. You can look up Ohio State's records and I guarantee that they have some of these, but I have seen UGA have some every year. Yes, even their back-to-back championship year. I am sure that whomever wins the 'ship this year will too. It's fine.

I watch plenty of college ball. Maybe I was wrong on Arkansas as I hardly watch them outside of today. They looked like they had bigger and faster athletes than Wake, while Wake is better coached. For an unbiased opinion, I asked ChatGPT and it’s basically a pick em. “Wake is an 8-9 win team.” Maybe in the ACC, but they’d struggle to win 2 games in the SEC.

That’s not even the point though as I’ve stated about three times now.

Everyone has bad games. If this was a one off under Mario id give it a pass. But this is an obvious pattern for this program and for Mario. I didn’t see UGA missing tackles left and right. I didnt see constant situational mismanagement.

We have guys buried on the depth chart that i imagine are paid more than their starters. I’m tired of the excuses.

They were taunting us in the 2nd half. And we once again made an average QB look like a hesiman contender
