Mirabal was the voice of reason.

Cristobal is going to announce new changes to make sure it never happens again. All his shirts will be custom made with a special pocket. At the 2 minute mark of games, Mirabal will jump inside his shirt pocket and advise him about clock management and kneeling.

Dawson's got a "full speed ahead" attitude. He wanted to ram it down their throats.
Everybody was on Dawson's side at the end of the A&M game when he said " I am going to end this MF er" Could have thrown a pick there and lost the game but threw TD. Dawson was an instant hero. I am not sticking up for anybody here. Dawson owned it. Mario owned it and as the HC gets all the blame. So we have some dumb a$$ coaches. So now I have to belief that they were trying to get Chaney (his first) 100 yard rushing game. Dawson wants to be a players coach and it bit him and Mario in the a$$ this time. What bothers me more is what if Chaney blows out a knee or a O lineman gets rolled up on. A personal achievement is not worth the reward any time. Now where do we go from here?

diff was there wasn't 30 seconds left in the game w no timeouts and no way of stopping the clock when Dawson threw the td. may as well put out the full context.

And that makes him complicit. That shows he was fully aware of what was going on, & if this is the conversation that was had, I’m even more concerned. Why tell a RB to have two hands on the ball, when said RB had no business running the ball from the 1:57 mark on? EVERY SIMPLETON know when u get to under two minutes, u’ve forced ur opponents to bleed their time outs & it’s now 1st & 10, the only plays to be called from there on is V-Formation.

So, trying to recap what he told Don is bull chit. Don should’ve never been carrying the ball, which is why the broadcast team on the ACCN kept asking y is Miami running plays? We had a 99.9% chance of winning, and somehow we didn’t. The only silver lining I can glean from this is I now have greater confidence in winning the lotto based upon what I saw Saturday Night.
But I put it in quotes

Mario told them to run it , end of story. People blaming players and other coaches are just wrong. If Mario says run it the next play will be a run and Dawson immediately looks at play sheet. Mario even bringing Dawsons name up or insinuating him is not cool. Knowing what MC was told and still rolled with a play other than kneeling. I understand some here don’t want to put all the blame on the head guy but you have no choice , sorry.
It seems as though all coaches yesterday answered in a professional way and all stated how much they are a family and each has each others back. Do you think that was all talk or did this situation open a can of worms?

It’s really amazing how this team turned the corner and people already worries about our coordinators getting bags thrown their way and seemingly it appeared maybe this time they are locked into Mario and the build here. I just hope this situation didn’t just affect all that goodwill and momentum.

Mario's postgame admission that he told Chaney to keep two hands on the ball is proof that this is not on Mario
Kobe Bryant What GIF

Not sure if serious..... but Mario is the head coach. This is his show. He has "veto" power over anything that's being called, offensively, defensively, or on the special teams. He is definitely on the hook for this.

1- Mario handed the keys to Dawson.

2-Dawson doesn't back down.

Exactly.

Again, fans loved it when Dawson wanted to put a foot on the throat against aTm and got the 64-yard strike to George on 3rd-and-8.

Of course if that ball is in complete, it's fourth down, Miami punts and Texas A&M gets the ball back with about 2:30 left, two time outs (wouldn't have burned one on incompletion versus a run) and it's a 41-33 game where touchdown and two-point conversion tie it up—but Cristobal gave Dawson the green light to call his shot.

Fans love it when it works and Monday morning quarterback when it doesn't. Period.

Had the Chaney "fumble" been rightly overturned, everybody's reaction would've been "dodging a bullet" and not making a huge deal out of it.

Same for if Miami's defense gets a stop. Maybe a little more ornery as it never should've come to that—but it's wheels-off mode right now because an imperfect storm happened and Miami lost.

NOW everyone wants Cristobal micromanaging Dawson, but again, had no issue with the green light after that "foot on their throat" strike to George worked out for the Canes.

In short, relax nerds. North Carolina week. Clemson on deck. North Carolina State and Virginia in store before Florida State. Solid outing against Louisville late and close on road at Boston College. Lots of football left.

it was Marios call. Dawson ran the play Mario wanted. theyre both idiots. blaming anyone else is ridiculous.

I'm angry as ****
The officiating crew shouldn't run another game all year but this is what the ACC is to UM. I'd bet my left nut we see a dog **** crew @ UNC this weekend too.
GT will show itself for what it is, rest of the season. Our young men will be ready the next time we face them. That’s all one can say. As for our season, there’s a lot to play for. I know it’s a tough schedule from hereon, but prepare right, and we can win a chunk of those.

It's kinda common sense and you have to be really trying not to see the obvious to think otherwise. One of two things HAS to true

1. Either Cristobal told Dawson to call a run and Dawson dutifully obeyed OR
2. Dawson called a run on his own volition and Cristobal was fine with it because he didn't call time out when he saw the team wasn't in the victory formation.

One way or another it's on Cristobal.

Everyone has given their thoughts by now but my gut reaction is Mario didn’t take a knee because he thinks it’s weak

He’s got this odd relationship with tough talk and actions that don’t always line up
