Exactly.
Again, fans loved it when Dawson wanted to put a foot on the throat against aTm and got the 64-yard strike to George on 3rd-and-8.
Of course if that ball is in complete, it's fourth down, Miami punts and Texas A&M gets the ball back with about 2:30 left, two time outs (wouldn't have burned one on incompletion versus a run) and it's a 41-33 game where touchdown and two-point conversion tie it up—but Cristobal gave Dawson the green light to call his shot.
Fans love it when it works and Monday morning quarterback when it doesn't. Period.
Had the Chaney "fumble" been rightly overturned, everybody's reaction would've been "dodging a bullet" and not making a huge deal out of it.
Same for if Miami's defense gets a stop. Maybe a little more ornery as it never should've come to that—but it's wheels-off mode right now because an imperfect storm happened and Miami lost.
NOW everyone wants Cristobal micromanaging Dawson, but again, had no issue with the green light after that "foot on their throat" strike to George worked out for the Canes.
In short, relax nerds. North Carolina week. Clemson on deck. North Carolina State and Virginia in store before Florida State. Solid outing against Louisville late and close on road at Boston College. Lots of football left.
