Miles Out...Cameron too..

My money is on someone that will be a very underwhelming name. Think back on the last few "big time" job openings in college. Did any of the actual hires end up impressing you? We're probably near the top of the list as we exceeded many national expectations by getting Rick to jump right back in. Short of Harbaugh being lured "home" as well nothing else pops out recently as something that an objective person would deem an impressive big name "home run" hire.

Throw 15 mil a year at Saban and see what happens. Two birds, one big, fat stone.

IMO ...

1st Call: Jimbo (They wanted him last year, he has experience there, and is an offensive-minded HC)
2nd Call: Lane Kiffin (Has SEC experience, is an offensive-minded HC, has seen the inside of the enemy's operation, excellent recruiter)
3rd Call: Sonny Dykes (Ties to Louisiana, offensive-minded HC, won't decline the offer)

LSU is not going to drag this out, and they won't let a bunch of guys turn them down.

I think Petrino stays at Louisville. And when he's done there, he'll probably have a building or field named after him. He's not getting that at LSU, or anyplace else. Louisville is in the ACC, now ... And has no impediments to competing for national titles. That wasn't the case when he left there the last time, and they were in the Big East.

Haha. You'd only get him a raise to $15,000,001 per year at Alabamy. They'd sell off parts of that campus before they let him go to another SEC school.

LSU has a former drunk who used to beat on His wife as an interim, and some of ya'll think they wouldn't hire a guy that covers up rapes...LOL.

Kiffin is a good possibility, he's leaving for sure this year. Now where he goes is the issue

He has failed everywhere as an HC, I don't think LSU would be interested in him.

You may be right about LSU not having interest. But Kiffin wasn't a failure at Tennessee. If he were, they wouldn't have been so mad about him leaving.

Wasn't he there for 2 minutes?

One year. Went 7-6. But it'd have be the same as if Golden had left after one year here. Fanbase would have hated him......earlier than we did but hated him nonetheless.

He went 7-6 and they were mostly upset because he left after one season. I don't see how 7-6 is any type of success, it is crap.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but if I were Chip Kelly I would be seriously thinking about pulling a Petrino in the middle of the night and bolt for LSU.
We all know he is not going to do anything in San Fran with Gabbert and Mr. kneel down, and I don't think there will be a better opening than this one once he gets fired from the NFL.

This is a perfect fit for Randy Shannon and Butch Davis. Randy is now seasoned and it would give Butch a chance to get back on the scene as DC. With that money they can hire a top notch staff.

Not sure if serious

I am very serious but it would be a great opportunity for both. I would go on to say Mike Jinks is a very underrated coach but really is the best thing popping that is not a retread of the same people getting mentioned every time a job becomes available. Mike Jinks as a HC/OC, Randy Shannon and Butch as a HC/DC any combo you would have the start of one **** of a staff.
