Miles Out...Cameron too..

He is paid well and has a $10MM buyout. UL will keep him and give him another raise.

I don't think Petrino will go anywhere, but I'm prepared to see all sorts of records broken for coaching buyouts.

This, but L$U clearly gives 0 ****s about money. They'll pay Miles's buyout, and any of their top targets buyout.

So you think they will pay $13MM for Les's buyout and another $10MM for Petrino's?

Don't know if this is true, but a decent source said they were prepared to do that last year, except they were simultaneously requesting more funds from the state for the school. Things fell apart for those reasons. Take that for whatever message board fodder it's worth.

They may have been prepared to buy him out but were they also prepared to pay another one.

LSU is a media darling SEC school. They can do no wrong.

They hire Briles and it's a "redemption" story.

If we ever hired a guy like Briles the world would end.

How does a coach redeem himself for his role in covering up multiple rape allegations? One year off the sideline from a multi-million dollar job? I know we hate the $SEC but I think this angle might be a reach.

He didn't cover up rape allegations. I'm tired of these people who think just because someone is accused of something that they are guilty and should be kicked off the team.

Fine. Briles, as the HC of the football program bore much of the responsibility for a culture that "failed to take appropriate action to respond to reports of sexual assault and dating violence reportedly committed by football players. The choices made by football staff and athletics leadership, in some instances, posed a risk to campus safety and the integrity of the University...actively discouraged some complainants from reporting or participating in student conduct processes and in one case constituted retaliation against a complainant for reporting sexual assault."

However, Twitter is reporting that LSU may reach out to Briles...

The whole Briles/Chris Petersen story about Sam Ukwuachu was grounds for dismissal ALONE. And I'm one that thinks athletic departments are often held to too high of a standard by administrations and the media.

Baylor decided their mission to live up to their morals as a private Christian university was more important than winning a few football games. In this day and age they should be commended, not ridiculed by some (not you) as being politically correct.

I'm guessing their top 2 are Herman and jizzbo. I think jizzbo would fail there. Starting to see the chinks in the fsu armor and we've all talked about the possibly lack of respect jizzbo has in the lockeroom. Won't he have those same issues at lsu? Anyway, he was an underwhelming OC at lsu.

Yes. That's what I meant. That this dude mentioned they were prepared to buyout Les and Jimbo. I don't know Jimbo's #. I don't know if this was true. Apparently, the fallout was political because they needed larger funds for other reasons and couldn't make this double whammy move at the same time.

I'm far removed from any of this. I don't even think Petrino will move. My statement was that I think schools are going to pay some big buyouts this upcoming offseason.

Lsu boards are floating the rumor around that briles is being brought in as an "offensive consultant." Lulz - can't make this **** up. Going to be a wild ride. Louisville, Houston and fsu all just got a tad bit nervous today.

Billy Embody of LSU.Scout is saying LSU has reached out to Tom Herman & Art Briles through their agents

Try that while most of the state of Louisiana is living in caves and see how that works out.

This is a very good point. Louisiana is going hat in hand to the Feds for flood relief, and they spend $20 million on football coaches? Even for that state, it would take huge ones.

Wouldn't take much "reaching out" to Briles. All they'd have to do is offer him $100 a week for the first year, and he'd swim to Baton Rouge.

Time for the retards from the local message boards to start over-valuing their team's HC gig. Won't be long before Pierre L'Ariz from Tiger Teeth starts telling those rubes that Bill Belichick has reached out to LSU.

LSU Gets most of its money from the SEC . Louisiana is a poor state. LSU is not going win any bidding wars with anyone. The Harris County Houston area probably has more money the entire of state of Louisiana. If Houston gets into the Big 12 then Houston has the potential to be a Miami like program.

Can't understand a top school considering Briles. His apparent involvement in suppressing rape is for sure going to bring the feds into this and they are going to destroy him.

Buyout re Miles & Petrino means nothing for LSU. Sleezy Petrino has no allegiance to anyone or anything; I could see him jumping in a New York minute to get out of the 'ville for a high profile gig like LSU.

One would think Petrino's fall from grace would make him a better person than to jump ship on the program that gave him a second chance.

Nahhh...

The Louisiana state budget is wrecked and I don't think they're in any position to offer a coach a max contract. It will be interesting to see what they offer.

Herman , Petrino or Briles at LSU is bad news for erryone in the country... I don't think they can make the Petrino thing happen. Thank god. Herman may stay put or hold out for Texas or Notre Dame. Briles on the other hand has his bags packed and is just waiting for the call.

That would definitely be offensive.
