Mike Ryan tidbit

It was wrong the minute I read it and posted as such. Unless there is a massive change of heart, which I do not anticipate, there is close to zero truth about what was mentioned. Again I will stay, Manny is gone, there will be an upgrade at A.D., and some people mentioned or that have been mentioned may have a role in the organization but they will not be running the entire athletic department.

It’s funny how nobody thinking that ZO or toretta could be leaking stuff to media. Just hire the FAU AD and get it over with.

Thank you. That is encouraging.

Nothing left to do but sit around and wait anxiously for good news.

Where is ESPN at the moment? We need this UM BOT circus to make the front page. I honestly feel that some of those BOT members couldn't care less if we are the laughing stock of the country as long as they keep their factions intact and their positions preserved. Just wild **** really

@Liberty City El or @DMoney Am I crazy to think he was one of the guys that first committed to Miami before it became the U and he's one of the leaders back then to make this uni a football school and make this place what it was? Like back in the 80's? I ask you guys cause you seem to be all up in the Umiami history books and seems up your alley.

If that was the case, then wouldn't he kinda the ideal person to know how to flip the table and kill all diseases int he program and start fresh and be able to know which HC would be the right guy? And then hold them accountable? Especially if his boy Ed Reed is Chief of Staff still?

The way USC is being talked about nationally is how Miami should be discussed after this hiring cycle.

Instead we're going to retain Manny and nobody is going to talk about Miami which is the worst fate of all. Nobody will talk about a disappointing season, or a grand slam hire. Instead we'll be totally and completely irrelevant.

If we hire Mario or Lane we're going to be getting the same coverage. It's Mario's job until it isn't, and hiring him would generate massive buzz. Remember all the good buzz we got back when we hired Richt? Imagine that, except Mario is in the prime of his career and is recruiting and an extremely high level.

They’re covering Lincoln Riley.

This is all on the administration. They fired Waste James 2 weeks ago apparently for not firing Diaz. Weeks later season is over and Diaz is still around and u got people still politiking and running things through the media to creat narratives. Frenk needs to take control right now. He is looking like a clown

Most BoT members didn't even go to Miami... they don't care about our football record.
They probably root for their own alma mater

AD fired, most of Diaz’s assistants gone, Mario was in Florida today, BOT in disarray…

Figure it out
I think most people acknowledge change is happening; the problem is, what we’re reading in media reports is not the type of change that is going to satisfy anyone here.

Bringing a gator like Nunez on board is a joke of a hire. His #1 achievement is the women’s cross country team at New Mexico State. Like….wtf.

i wouldn't say crazy, but maybe try to think a little deeper than just him knowing canes football. zo played for us almost 40 years ago and hasn't touched college athletics since. he might make a great leader of the football team, but do you think he knows how to handle a basketball or baseball program? how about when the time comes to upgrade the tennis center or figure out new arrangements for the rowing team? we have a lot more sports than football, and we have to keep those maintained to stay in title ix compliance at minimum. being an athletic director requires a lot more than knowing just football.

I understand that some people don't like the idea of Zo as AD. **** if I had the choice it would be Jurich or someone else. BUT, Zo is nothing like Swann. Two completely different resumes.

Miami needs a real athletic director and Alonzo Highsmith in a football-only, GM-type role. Period.

There is zero reason Highsmith or Gino Torretta—with zero AD experience—should be "the guy" in that role in 2021.

Then again, this is also a program that stumbled into hiring general counsel Paul Dee as athletic director and he held the role for 15 years .... so none of this comes as a surprise.
