According to Pro Football Reference, Miami has the 11th most NFL players of all time, but

- 2nd most TDs scored at 1,882 (Notre Dame #1 at 1,913 with more than 7,000 more games played)

- 3rd most Pro Bowls at 180 (USC #1 at 238 and Notre Dame #2 at 188, again both with more than 7,000 more games played each)

- 4th most Hall of Famers at 9 (USC and Notre Dame tied at #1 with 13, Pittsburgh #3 with 10)

Only a matter of time before we become #1 in TDs and HOFers...Pro Bowls will take a awhile

Just imagine if they'd counted the TD Cleveland Gary scored.
I find myself rewatching that game a lot, trying to wrap & justify wtf the refs saw. Then after watch ND v. Clemson when they called a catch on a crucial down, when the ball clearly hit the ground, I realized that there is no justification for that **** poor of a call on CG’s blown TD. That’s what refs in South Bend do.

Of any play in the history of Canes football, none has ever infuriated me more.

Not even Glen Sharpe.

The smugness of the Irish after was sickening.

Just told my Buddy that.

First off, I was very young & not in tuned w my emotions then, so I recall vividly throwing a temper tantrum as my dad said that’s not a fumble, that’s a touchdown. However, w/ Sharpe, an angle looked like potential P.I was made, AN ANGLE. And he made himself look guilty. So although I hate the result, & know it was a **** poor call, I can somewhat rationalize that. Not Cleveland Gary. Not remotely close.

Knees were down, and he extended the ball cross the goal line and the ball fluttered from his hand after ground contact. His WHOLE BODY was down. If anything, call him short, but to say a fumble when his whole **** body was down w/ clear control!? Bro; that’s the definition of ***** job & cheating. And the fact ND fans still try to justify it til this day. Hence, I stay out of Chicago Bars whenever I visit.

**** Pitt has 10 HOF'ers?
They were a blue blood my friend. Crazy how far they’ve fallen. Pretty much a has been never will be again but they at one time and for the longest time we’re the kings of Pennsylvania and northeast football. After Marino left and they torn down the on campus stadium to play where the stealers play it all headed down hill for some reason that most old school Pitt fans still can’t understand why. Weird how college football works. Seems like Nebraska is on that very same trajectory.

Are we too? Eerily similar

Heck no we’re not simply because we lie right in the middle of the most fertile recruting grounds in the country. At any moment especially with the right coach we can catch lighting in a bottle and lay waste to CFB. The reason it happened to Nebraska is because they never had instate recruiting and once the rest of the nation caught up to there facilities which were ahead of the times and state of the art back in the day their national recruiting fell off and the death knell was them leaving the big 12 because then they couldn’t even recruit Texas anymore. Why it happened to Pitt is anyone’s guess because they still have decent recruiting grounds especially in western Pennsylvania. I think it was a combo of lack of support and resources from there admin after Marino left and the rise of PSU as the instate and national power. I could be wrong though, that’s just my guess.

Sharpe play still the one I never got over. There is no close second. That play alone cost us a title and the team spiraled downward from there.

Same, but I also can’t watch:

- Sean T getting the ball taken from him by Clarrett in that same game.
- Testaverde throw his eleven-teenth INT to end the 86 Pedo State game (to a guy named “Giftopolus” of all things).
- Lamar Thomas versus George Teague.
- Hail Flutie.

Agree with all but all those we did to ourselves. The big difference is the other one was taken from us.

It’s been a long time since we’ve sent a significant pro to the league. Gore and one or both of wayne and aj will make the HOF. Don’t see Wilfork or Hester getting it. Who else? We’re a long way from 13 guys. And our guys ain’t piling up pro bowls so much anymore. going to take a new generation and another run to catch up the teams ahead of us on these lists.

LMFAO at Hester not getting in. The best to ever do a given thing, by far, and the most dangerous man in football for like three years straight. We may never see a Super Bowl opening kick go back again in our lives. Spare me the "specialists don't make it" crap.

Wayne is also a no-brainer, and Johnson probably makes it as well. Only things really hurting Dre are low TD numbers and no rings. But he was an absolute beast on a lousy team for a few seasons, and did all the off-field stuff the HoF committee loves.
