Miami vs Fsu recruiting

This is a very good class not elite. Only elite i see in this class is chad and valentine.

yearby a good back but won't be drafted high, moten is very good but not elite. Kc and darling could be 1st-2nd round type guys.

We are missing on a lot of elite guys like 6,collins,cook,lane,rudolph,maybe dixon, cooper.

Most of the guys named fsu wasn't even recruiting. They didn't want bethel cuz his size, valentine cuz of grades, wasn't in it for kc, wasn't recruiting moten that hard and he didn't even visit them.

What a bunch of bull****! Sorry I read it

Miami on Rivals: 3.5 star rating

FSU on Rivals: 3.4 star rating

And they only have 3 less commits then us so it is a fair comparison. If they are the gold standard for recruiting the past 3-4 years, then no matter how somebody slices it, Golden is more then keeping up.

Lets see how the last two months play out. We all laughed at FSU for thinking they weren't gonna close strong last year (after Coley came over, etc), and then they ****ed us. Maybe it is the reverse this year.

I preface this by saying at the moment I really like our class and though we might miss on some guys we have replaced them with quality talent with a chance to still close strong.

But in FSU case they dont have to come to south florida and sign all their players and consider it a win, they have signed some lower guys in past in hopes of making in roads to sign top guys. If a 2 year haul of MT6, Keef, Cook, Randolph, Lane, etc comes to fruition I think they call it a win and when looking at Taking the #1 senior in Dade county 2 years running you cant blame them.

I still like what we have done overall and our class is still strong, also I dont know the intimate details of FSU recruiting class but if you want to say who wins between the two teams in south florida, I will go with the team that got the best player.

Are you making this **** up? Bethel is not big enough and yet Joyner one of their best players is 5'8. Both play the same position CB so i am having trouble with that excuse. This sites recruiting forum lists his offers and FSU wanted this young man, period. On your other point, since when can't an athlete get into FSU? They are no better than LSU or the Mississippi's of the SEC when it comes to academics.

I'm sure if Yearby was still committed to FSU he would be on everyone's "eilte" list. Anyone putting Dixon higher than Yearby just isnt thinking straight.
Actually, when he was committed to FSU the consensus was that he wasnt even in the same stratosphere of Michel and Cook, check the threads....

I think this is a top heavy class, but overall a very good class...Golden actually has to beat Jimbo on the field if he wants to keep Jimbo's hands out of the So Fla. cookie jar

This^^^^Yearby and Duke are both great backs but are small and both are injured right now....Cook will be a college Bell-Cow type of RB, Yearby will never be a number #1 back that is why Cook and Michel have their 5* and Yearby remains at 4*

Why do some of yall think everybody that comes to miami is elite. Some of you like to go by who bama and lsu offered on D but we only have 2 guys they want and would take.

Those 2 are chad and valentine. We have some good to very good prospects that could turn out to be elite but right now they are not considered to be elite level prospects.

pruitt came to fsu from bama and joyner was already there and is a beast. Pruitt wants bigger corners like he helped recruit at bama. They brought in ramsey who is 6'1, humphrey who they going hard for is 6'1.

That's why they don't want that randolph dude he is only about 5'10.

Yearby is a VERY GOOD player. Barring injury/depending on wether cook or Sony sign by a wing and a prayer, yearly will probably receive most of the carries/be a number 1 back eventually. I honestly don't understand why people pigeon hole these kids into set roles before they arrive/mature.

What is your determining factor that makes you say yearby "won't be a supposed #1 back"? Please don't say size, because looking at height and weight you will see MOST elite running backs in the NFL/College have been 5'11 or shorter anywhere from 200-215 pounds. People get caught up in having a 6'2-6'3 guy when in MOST cases those guys don't work out long term unless they are athletic freaks and have REALLY worked on their craft. Those guys don't come around that often.

If Yearby had Duke's burst it would be a different story, if yearby was 5'9 or 5'8 but built like a bowling ball like Ray Rice, it would be a different story. Yearby is still a very good back and will/should have success at the next level. The question is how much? The kid cuts on a dime, and has great vision, but will he be able to handle Div 1 strength? Will those 13-20 yd runs(I know weird number but whatever) be 13-20 yd runs or are they all of a sudden 3-5 yd runs? I see the latter....
Yearby still has a chance to bulk up, but his frame from what my eyes tell me have limits. He did appear to get faster this year, so that is a good thing but there are still questions. I do agree that Duke and Yearby are not the same backs though, Duke is lightning in a bottle and was overused this year, he is a scatback that plays physical. The good news for Duke is that, it appears the NFL values guys like him way more nowadays than in the past. Yearby on the other hand is an every down in between the tackles type back, but he is on the small side. The millions dollar question is how will that translate at the next level. Sony and Dalvin, well they have the skillset and the physical build and that is what makes them elite. Yearby has the skillset but not the build.....

Cook-Noles
Lane-UF
Rudolph-Bama

Shouldn't we expect to do better than them in our own backyard?

And I think people are upset because those are 3 of the higher-ranked guys at their positions.

Bingo.

If FSU closes with Cook, Lane, and Rudolph, it'll have added three legit game-changers from SoFLA to it's roster.

I think we're adding some game-changers too, particularly on defense, but losing those three collectively is a failure.

Honestly that is way better than all of them going to FSU.....

Miami this year has put up a fence here in South Florida

FSU has been reaching more into the panhandle, Louisiana and Alabama. They aren't getting many kids down here.

But if they get Cook then I'm sure they're happy nonetheless. Worton is a good WR too. Jojo is a good athlete nothing special.

That's odd. Looking at 247 stats your accusations of Yearby don't hold up.

2013
Yearby 177 att 1700 yds
Cook Stats not updated

2012
Yearby 212 att 1448 yds 3 rec 22 yds
Cook 132 att 1451 yds 10 rec 269 yds

2011
Yearby 283 att 2160 yds 2 rec 11 yds
Cook 90 att 876 yds

Yearby is clearly capable of carrying the ball many times a game, as he has done, many more times that Cook every season. I totally understand the #'s put up by Cook are high. But to say Yearby won't be able to be a #1 back is ridiculous. They are listed at the same weight and 2" difference in height. The fact that Yearby has a fractured ankle right now has nothing to do with anything. That's like saying "well Adrian Peterson is hurt in the right now because he's a small back." Everyone gets hurt at some point, injury does not discriminate.
