Trumpycane thinks Scott with 6 snaps is alarming
Yeah, But Bain and Mesidor straight up aren't leaving the field. So like in this game thats acconting for 104/208 total DL snaps basically. Blay is the clear starting NT so should be getting like 60-70% of snaps (most-all run downs), so thats around 30-35 snaps expected. Moten seems like he's going to at least be matching Blay as he's clearly the starting DT, except he wont be coming out for every pass down basically, so he should be more 35-40 snaps. And I'd say you want all 3 of Lightfoot, Blount, and Scott to be in around like 20 snaps. Well that all would add up to 135 snaps to fit into 104 from this game....

We'll see. I think with Bain and Mesidor playing almost every snap, it really creates a lot of competition for Lightfoot/Blount/Scott, and whoever is doing the best/earning it the most that week is getting the PT. Or just matchup based of course

It’s more about game situation. Uf was behind and in a lot of pass situations. The defense normally brings in Blount and Lightfoot in obvious pass rush situations. For example fsu runs the ball 50 times a game. That may lead to more reps for Scott

Well I agree, but also you can just argue that It's straight up a Competition between Lightfoot/Blount/Scott for similar snaps. If Lightfoot was 3rd in that trios pecking order, I guarantee you we'd be playing Blount and Scott with Mesidor and Bain both staying outside.. Sure we would be dropping Mesidor into coverage less than we've been dropping Lightfoot so it'd be a little different, but it wouldn't be a big deal. And if Blount was at the bottom, it'd definitely be Scott in With Mesidor inside and Bain and Lightfoot on the Edge...

Scott went 20 - 15 - 29 - 6 snaps. He had 4 pass rush snaps which was his fewest of the season.
I think at this point its pretty obvious that Scott is the CLEAR #3 Pure DT. But has been below Blount all season as well. Blount had more snaps against ND. Had slightly fewer snaps against USF coming back from injury after missing the Bethune game, and then this week outsnapped him 3:1. Neither one of them has been a difference maker thus far, but Blount has imo demonstrated a far higher motor at running to the ball. But Scott also had the biggest play by far of the two on that forced Fumble.

It's still super early obviously. I think by mid season he'll really start stepping up.

They really thinned down the rotation in this game. Expect to see the same thing next game against fsu.

I don’t understand what the coaches see thus far in Bauman. He missed on some blocks and was TERRIBLE as a receiver.
I think he's playing so much because they don't trust Lofton to block on runs. Lofton had a couple of stinker blocking reps against UF too. Was nice to see him get involved in the passing game though. Bauman average at best blocker, but still has been better than Lofton.

Hopefully the bye week helps Lofton get more snaps, and helps Gilbert get snaps against FSU, at Bauman's expense.

I still think we could do damage on offense out of split back 20 sets with no TE on the field, but I doubt we ever play without a TE, lol.

Blount is basically playing DT tbh. Low key the staff wants him there but he isn’t big enough

Schott and Gilbert’s must be inconsistent in their run blocking in practice. It’s not like Miami bringing either into the game is a giveaway they’re going to run the ball.

Was Josh Moore hurt against USF? Caught two touchdowns and a few other passes in the game. What do you have to do earn playing time? Is his run blocking deficient?
