miami picked to finish third in the conference

LOL. Just based on composite rankings alone we should be in the top 2 in the conference (ahead of Florida State).

This should be the theme song going into the season.

And the game vs us was close as ****, we literally got a stop at the 1 yard line lol, they lost to fsu in ot also. They will be a top team again
We were very lucky to win that game. Emory was terrible in the first half (rightfully so).

Preseason rankings have always been useless, but even moreso in the portal era

I will say I think Cal is going to be a problem for a lot of ACC teams this year

Hopefully not for us

That prediction is totally meaningless. If Mario plays to win not lose, he makes sound decisions during the game, we have excellent QB play, and play discipline with very little stuid penalties I think we can win the ACC. Ward must stay healthy and barring any major devastating injuries we can compete for the title.

Miami plays the #1, #5, #6, #9, #10, #11, #12, and #15 teams on this poll. #’s 1, and 6 are at home. So we play 1 road game against a top 8 team in the league.

FSU plays #2, #3, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11 and #15.

They’re not winning this league. The good guys are.
For sure….Not with DJ at the helm.

Wild thing is we are picked to finish 3rd for one reason, Mario Cristobal. He also happens to be the architect of this roster which is easily top 10 in CFB.
There is so much on the line for Mario. He can legitimize himself as a top coach, dispel the QB negativity, put the U back in the map and put us in better position for a conference upgrade.
Just a little bit of pressure on him.

Well said.

We are a national dark horse because of the talent Mario has recruited. Money also helps, but his recruiting improved this roster to the point that for the first time in years, the pre-season hype at least has some backbone and merit to lean on.

And yet we’re projected (on paper) behind FSU and Clemson, because of Mario Cristobal.
