FSU cleaning up. This **** is depressing.

They just won the national title why wouldnt kids consider them

They always cleaned up, even when we were doing better than them, and we were winning NC's and they weren't. You guys just don't listen. I know he hisory. They've always had an advantage over us with a lot of the divas. Why, I don't know.

The big difference was, we worked harder in practice and offseason, and our guys had more heart. We'd beat them.

They where cleaning **** up, before they ****ing won. And by cleaning up, I mean taking pretty much every recruit that was a head to head battle with Diabeetus gut and had commitable offers from both schools. ****s just sad.

Lets at least be real about the criticism. Only 6 of FSU's starters are from Sofl.
Freeman, Hart, Greene and Joyner committed to FSU before Golden was even hired. Greene moved in the area when he was an 11th grader...The other 2, O'Leary and Benjamin, committed shortly afterwards. Al didn't have a chance with them.

Name a key player that Al lost head-to-head that contributed to their NC...Even though he's from Orlando, starting KR Kermit?

Golden can be blamed for alot of things but FSU's NC isn't one of them. They cherry pick nationally- Winston, Goldman, Darby, Ramsey, Erving, both Smiths, Edwards, etc, etc.

Again, name some. I'll wait...

That's a good point. Back in the mid-80's, when I was more fanatic about recruiting, I used to check the FSU and UF rosters for south Florida players, and neither school would have that many. Usually, UF had even fewer than FSU, and both were way way below UM. Often, the players they had were pretty good, but not always. Some years in a row, UF's south Florida players could be counted on one hand.

When Spurrier was at UF, he was downrighted frustrated at his inability to break south Florida? Remember his pouting in the offices of the MNW coaches, alleging that they were pushing kids to UM?

Yeah, those schools will cherry pick some gems, they did this year, but even now, we're still winning more head to heads. I know that Cook, Lane and Powell hurt to lose, but I think we'll start winning more and more battles, especially against the out-of-state schools as we improve.

We're not doing so badly. We'll never get them all, but we'll get more than our share.

You mention Kelvin Benjamin. I remember when we couldn't recruit Belle Glade at all. Our first breakthrough was probably Nakia Jenkins, back in the late '80's or early '90's. He never enrolled. He was not really from Belle Glade, had just moved there. I think our first real breakthrough was James Jackson. Then we got some more.

It seems everybody went to UF: Louis Oliver (as a walkon); Fred Taylor, Reidel Anthony, Ray McDonald, Jimmy Spencer, Rhondy Weston, Johnny Rutledge. FSU got very few, maybe Jesse Hester and a few others.

We're actually doing better in some places. We never recruited the muck that well in the '80's and '90's. Lost Johnny Davis (Pahokee) and Anquan Boldin (Pahokee).

I hear u jand n i love those canes u mentioned but the elite misses change this whole roster n r to big to ignore. For example this D is totally different with bryant bostwick n valentine this year those r kids we should have. With alex collins we beat duke its mu opinion period, we wouldnt rely on SM. If we keep missing which i think we will we will stay where we r currently at. Alot of people say fsu always recruited well which is true but with todays age and the rankings more precise n easier to evaluate kids its way more on target than before. They arent getting busts to often now, i think they will run the table again based on there recruiting, maybe a different outcome in the bvs game tgis time.

They will probably be better this year IMO its because of recruiting, cmon now all of sudden jimbo can coach? Fk outta here with that, its his players who made him just like n e other program. Since he took over his classes r top 3 all the time n its y they won. Until we do that we will be an 8 to 10 win good team because we recruit around that area but we want an elite miami not a good miami.

With sfla we should be elite always but time has killed this program the internet age is hurting miami. The misses will pile on NSD dont expect a change IMO this is a good football prpgram but top to bottom uf n fsu r about winning at all costs n yea we cheated before but we cant now n i bet they do.

We land these kids n this program will be where we want it.

Mostly, this thread depressed me.

Every year, I knowingly get on this old, rickety, wooden, whiplash causing roller coaster.

Most of the time the ride sucks more than it doesn't.

Something's wrong with me.

But then again, I guess there's not a roller coaster in the world that you get to jump on exclusively during the funnest of the twists and turns.

When UM starts to put a winning team on the field that does it with style points and is fun to watch then the s. Fla kids will flock to UM by the dozens. But also as fans we need to keep in mind we will not get them all, so lets appreciate the ones that do stand with the U.

Also there is always the SEC and Big 10 bagmen out there to come in an make recruit an offer they can't refuse.

Go Canes

First of all u should know better danny its not about winning its about relationships n which kid is making the best choice for there family. These kids live in a now now now society n recruiters give them that be it cash women etc. Sfla kids love um but its a true business descision, its hard 2 turn that down **** i would play elsewhere if they took care of my parents.

JK......it's way too early.

Look at the last 2 nsd I dont think you want to rely on that. The last 2 you end up with no collins, thomas, bostwick, bryant, cook, lane, rudolph, treon, jc, valentine. So why in the **** would they be looking forward to nsd.

He is going to go where he wants. What bothers me is that this is the first time I here a recruit say that a school besides Miami is recruiting him the hardest. What is going on? That kid is a priority!

I'd like a kid to define "hardest" in terms of a school's recruiting efforts once. With recruiting as structured as it is I find it hard to believe that one school can out effort another school for these 4 and 5 star kids within a year of NSD. I'm more apt to believe that terminology along with the constant "my top 3" rankings by these kids is just them playing games or talking for the sake of talking.

Sam Bruce says that his top-4 is:

1- FSU
2- Ohio State
3- Miami
4- Clemson

Man all this Ohio State stuff is ****ing me off. I can understand FSU & Bama etc. but tOSU is ****, with **** weather, football, &coaching. smh
