MIAMI LANDS NO.1 2026 PROSPECT JACKSON CANTWELL

Yup I agree... But similar could have probably been said about Keenyi Pepe. The info is he also Silently committed as well... I do think USC strategy is to drop big commitment bags. So there is that as the difference. And I'm sure it'll work to keep some, but it didn't work to keep all last yr when we got Lowe. Hopefully same happens with Pepe and Topui

Yes, but Pepe almost immediately flipped to USC. Nobody else on the silent list flipped.

The point is this. Getting a silent verbal is still an indication of a very strong connection. Pepe has some family/west-coast stuff that is very powerful, and I can understand how that is playing out (for now). His fact pattern is not the same as the others.

Arm length matters, and it’s obviously more to an OL’s advantage if their arm length is supreme, but it isn’t the end all be all and can be negated with technique and style of play. It’s not like he will be facing Myles Garrett weekly in the ACC.

We just saw someone with much shorter arms than average go #4 overall and was a pretty **** good CFB OL. I’m more focused on how he handles being inevitably thrown into the fire quickly next spring. The shot put ability speaks to his torque and raw power and strength translates. I think that will be put on display in the ACC. Overload him in the spring and throw every edge body at him and every pass rush game possible to get him prepared, we will need him.
Arm length matters mainly from the NFL perspective.

They may end up making him Guard once his time comes & he declares for the draft.

But he absolutely can & will be an OT in College.

UGA and Oregon not paying up for this kid

What a time to be alive
My brother is on the UGA rivals board. Their insider is saying Kirby keeps trying wring as much as possible from the booster network, but it’s dry. Just like Bama, they have a bunch of millionaires but no billionaires tossing around fun coupons. The money handshakes ain’t cutting it no more.

That's some serious copium. I hope he sticks to the recommended dose. There's layers here, it isn't a vacuum.

Bottom line for me, is that NIL has changed the game, but it has also been a great investment for the right players. Cam Ward proved to be an absolute bargain. It's hard to see that being the case with a single OL, but string together an elite OL and you're a very enticing place for the next elite QB.

I am critical of Mario for just about everything he does, says, and thinks, but I don't question him as an OL coach. Yeah, Mirabal is the OL coach, but this is Mario's OL. It's far from unreasonable for an OL to choose UM for development. It is the one thing for which Mario is undeniably credible.
