The Miami Hurricanes are back on top of college football. For the first time since Dec. 8, 2002, the Hurricanes are the No. 1 team in the country in the AP Top 25 poll.



Following one of the craziest weekends of college football, where the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 6 and No. 7 teams all lost, the top 10 is looking pretty different this week.

The Miami Hurricanes survived against the Florida State Seminoles, winning 43-35 in overtime. Miami moved up two spots from last week's poll and is now the No. 1 team in the country.

 

Told ya so!

 

Meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully it doesn’t go to the players heads. They already got caught at times lifeless in this FSU game.

It means about as much as OSU being ranked #1 preseason. Then Texas, then Georgia.

 

Crazy to think I was 22 last time we were number one, now I’m 46. Life comes at you fast.

I mean you point out the controversial play on one side … but IU lost on a complete brain dead play by its WR after OSU DB blew the coverage. Plus OSU already lost to Texas too who is looking less and less impressive each week.

BYU should be ranked 1 imo

And BYU could have had to defend another down from on two accounts: if PI was called, or if 1 second was left.

 

Im proud we have the #1 ranking! Everyone saying that it's bad because it puts a target on our back? Please. We've had a target on our back for over 40 years.
Even in years we would finish 7-5 we were still the circled opponent on everyone's schedule.

The NCAA is full of flawed good teams this year and Miami is the best of those teams.

 

I assume many here weren't even alive when we were last #1.

Between 86 and 93, the couple of times we were out of the top 5 I was in shock!

 

21 years old and no kids the last time we were number 1. Now 45 3 kids and I get to appreciate this one with my oldest

 

Wake should be a top 15 team and maybe even top 10. They're legit and I'm not sure I want to see them in Charlotte. They figured something out in the 2nd half.

Wake could be in the Top 8 by the ACCCG. That game is going to be a bloodbath.

I doubt that our 2ndary or Mensah is patting themselves on the back after this performance. Getting better in those areas are the true challenge.

 

Let it soak in ladies and gents , we’ve come along way since 2022 when we went 5-7, and now we’re #1. **** it goes way back before 2022, the last 24 years have had so many low points, Mario changed all that by flipping certain position groups, working the portal to our needs, recruiting his *** off for his/our beloved Hurricanes. We’re back where we belong that’s for **** sure!!!

Beating Notre Dame at home on a controversial play really carries more weight than Ohio State going on the road and beating Indiana??

I ******* hate Ohio State like the best of us but you’ve got to be kidding me. Just shows the **** sucking love (pause) that Notre Dame gets from the media.

Brother did you watch the BYU-ND game? BYU looked like the better team by FAR. There were a few special teams snafus that gave ND the ball basically in BYUs red zone. I was super low on BYU ahead of this game and thought ND was gonna handle them but they dominated the domers.
