It's not an either/or thing. We're going to look for S Florida guys AND we're going to hunt nationally.
Don’t agree. He’s going to consistently have them at 10-11 wins even if he’s there 5 more years. Not close to being like Coker. but that’s not going to happen because they expect championships every other year and i think he will be fired if he doesn’t win a ring in the next two seasons. If I was a HC I wouldn’t want to be the one who followed Saban.
They used to stack 5-star defensive linemen and given how expensive that position has become, it is basically impossible to do that these days. Someone else will overpay.
I will say that if he has a few more seasons where they look overmatched against legit competition (Georgia and Indiana late) then I might change my opinion. But they just polished off another Top 3 recruiting class and he had a first-round quarterback, so he deserves a slightly longer leash in my opinion.
I think expecting a legitimate playoff contender should be the expectation for every fanbase, including ours.

I like his tape a lot more for sure. Only time will tell who turns out better I guess.
Also Bama plays in a weak conference.
We are 5-0 against the SEC going back to 2023.
The primary thing that standout is his quick footwork.
- Playing in Off coverage Bail tech, you see his high level backpedal.
- He's watching eyes on the QB while also anticipating the WR's break. He's playing to Outside leverage while playing on top of the route to be able to close to either leverage side depending on the WR's break.
- He recognizes the Outside Dig route & uses the controversial T-Step break to recalibrate his feet, recover & drive back towards the ball. As the WR flattens his route towards the sideline, this gives the Corner time to recover & break on the ball at an acute angle undercutting the route to get the pick.
- On this rep you see the same thing. Playing Off coverage, reading the QB's eyes while simultaneously playing the WR.
- He quickly recognizes the WR's depth & doesn't bite by overcommitting to the sell of a 9 route. He immediately knew it was a 10yd Curl/Buttonhook.
- Plants his backfoot, squares his shoulders & drives back to the ball
- Plays to the WR's outside arm & drives through across the WR's catch zone getting the PBU.
- Playing Press Man on the Boundary side
- Initial jam at the LOS to steer towards the sideline. He has Inside leverage, but the WR releases to Outside leverage.
- He immediately opens towards the sideline & plays the WR's outside shoulder. Closes the distance at the top of the stem & gears down to shift back towards the break to collapse the Comeback route.
- Plays overtop of the back of the WR & pushes through the route to get his hands in & get the PBU
- Lined up at Nickel in Off coverage
- Once again plays on top of the route so as to not cheat to either side of the leverage. This allows for him to correctly anticipate the break at the top of the route & quick transition to close the distance.
- He recognizes the Post route & does a good job not biting on the outside sell/fake understanding the WR is stemming to the outside to break inside & get up the field for the Post.
- He reshuffles his feet downshifting at the top of the stem & cutting off the WR at an angle to disrupt the route & beat him to the ball to get the PBU at the catch point
This was textbook Post coverage from the Nickel Slot left hash/Backside.
- Playing Off again, but this time it's Red Zone coverage to the Field side, which is much more difficult for most CB's to cover.
- It's a Short climb In-route/Slant in the End Zone. He plays to the outside shoulder of the WR, opens & skates downturn to get to the break.
- As the WR crosses the threshold, he closes in towards inside positioning, plays through the hands & is able to make a TD saving PBU
- Playing in Off coverage Field side
- Displays his excellent backpedal again, using stutter step & planting his off foot to accelerate up field while in transition.
- After reading the Drag route, presses towards the inside hash to get perfect the angle & crash down at the top of the stem & undercut the route to get the pick.
Once again textbook coverage against a crossing route.
Overall, this is a smart Corner who's learned how to read routes properly. I'm guessing his Coaches put him in Off on purpose as a means to give him in advantage in reading & pattern recognition.
He doesn't play much Press Man, but has the prerequisite footwork & recovery speed to do so if necessary.
He plays with quick-twitch burst & open field acceleration that allows for him to stay with routes even when he's beat by a half-a step off the release.
Shows versatility in playing all 3 Corner spots. Has the ability to be a full time Boundary, but projects best as a Nickel.
He's got the kind of juice/energy you saw from Keonte Scott at the Nickel position. He probably wouldn't be as impactful in the run game as KScott was, but from a coverage standpoint has very good technically sound footwork.
May struggle early on with the fighting off blocks in the run game & affecting screen plays, but for me personally I don't really care much about physicality in Corners outside of coverage. However, our staff places a high premium on tackling with our DB's, so that's something he'll have to work on.
Can be a multi-year starter in college & should be able to compete next year at the Nickel spot with Camdin Portis.

First off, thanks for doing all that. I’m sure that took some time to piece together.
Second. I now know that I know nothing about DB play. Ok slightly more than nothing, but I am humbled by this.

New Miami cornerbacks coach Terry Jefferson offered Hall in the winter even before he received his recent promotion. The two stayed in contact over the last several months and built a real bond.
“He was the reason I committed,” Hall said. “Honestly, he was. He’s a really cool guy. He keeps it real with me. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He said I’m not guaranteed a starting spot. He said I came come in and work and play. He kept it honest. He’s a good person. I feel like I can play under him the next four years.”
