Miami has inquired about Tom Herman (per CBS Miami)

This is phase 1 of herman's agent's plan to drive up his salary at Houston. I'm sure the agent leaked this for leverage.

Herman also has buyout in the $2m+ range

Houston was 5-7, 8-5, and 8-5 the three years previous to his hire. Why is this team loaded but those weren't?

And add to that ... Why is it a bad thing that the guy ELEVATED the team to reach it's potential?

Shouldn't a coach be judged by his ability to have his team meet, or exceed, expectations?
 
I dont care what you guys say. Miami will never recruit the type of bodies straight out of high school needed to run a succesful 3-4. 3-4 is not good against speed, which the acc has a lot of. Bama has to go through lsu most years so trhe physical 3-4 is neccesary, but when they play a team with speed they get gashed for 500 yards and 40 points.

Florida produces 4-3, 3-3-5, and 4-2-5 talent. We need to be running a 4-3/4-2-5 to maximize the geographic talent and stop trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

no herman. no 3-4.

There are only 2 fronts ... Odd or Even ...

So, if Florida produces talent to run 4-3, or 3-3-5 ... Then, it produces the talent for a 3-4 ... Because a 3-3-5 is just a 3-4, that replaced a LB with a DB ... The same as a 4-2-5 is a 4-3.

3-4 not a problem at all. Just has to be an aggressive/attacking 3-4.

They aren't allowed to request permission to speak with him until the season is over.

I don't give a **** what defense we run, it's the principles that concern me. As long as we're aggressive.
 
I just looked at Houston's results this year. They haven't beaten anyone of note, in my opinion.

In thinking about coaches like Urban Meyer... that dude took Utah to a BCS bowl when Utah was in the Mountain West Conference and Utah won that game! Finished 13-0.

Let's slow our roll on Herman. He may well become an elite HC, but it would represent another very risky hire.

Let's get a proven coach - let's get Butch F-ing Davis!
