A single orange shoulder pad? Nike was sorry af, and no amount of cult brand loyalty can change that.

Let’s do a side by side comparison of jersey designs; btw, I agree w/ u that the jersey provided is a poor design, & one of my most hated.

With that said, let’s take a look at the worst designs by both Nike & Adidas:

Jersey 1: is arguably my most hated jersey design regardless of era or program (2010)

Jersey 2: is in the running, but don’t think it’s as egregious as jersey 1 (2005)

Jersey 3-5: The Flamingo Stencil jerseys (2015). I still don’t have these above jersey 1, but they are worst than #2 trying to incorporate the Hurricane flag for the stripes, the word “Miami” on the front in a weird font, the giant silver U for the “Ice alternatives”, plus they used a weird stretch material. We looked like a high school team playing on a dirt field.

Jersey 6-7: The Trash Aqua (2018). Not only was this made from recycle ocean waste, but it was a waste of a design. If u had issues w/ the 2005 jersey, then certainly u should’ve had issues w/ the tangerine orange jersey + aqua green mismatch shoulder pads. Couple that w/ its crooked design, & this is arguably the worst alternates we had from both a color scheme & aesthetics standpoint.

Jersey 8-9: The Next Ocean Trash jerseys (2019). This was by far the most plain, & uninspiring jersey in our collection. Not only was it a winter, pine green, not only was it crooked, but it was literally plain. Lol This could be deemed as Miami Football meets Miami Futbol.

Jersey 10: The 7-11 meets Dan Johnson (not Don) jerseys (2022-23). So horrid were these jerseys that Mario refused to dawn them when they were released for the 2022-23 season. Lol. However, due to contract stipulations, we were obligated to wear them. Not only was this a poor representation of Miami Nights (FIU’s Miami Nights & Miami Vice were MUCH BETTER by comparison), but we looked putrid playing in them.

*I know the 2014 jerseys are a hot topic/controversial due to the FAMU combo that the “team” put us in, but that’s not a design critique vs. a uniform combo critique in which the players/coaches chose, therefore I wouldn’t include it.

Yes Nike gave us the Zoom Ibis that looked like a Clam which was more of a legality issue, & it can be argued that in the 27 yr history of our relationship w/ Nike, there were 2, maybe 4 bad designs; now, compare that w/ Adidas who have been our partner for only 10 yrs, & compare the poor designs w/in this period. ****, I’m not even including the strawberry material they used for the 2016 jawns, the V on the color, or the army unis (Veteran Day) that were a flop.

We’ve continuously been given poor designs, poor material, inconsistent fonts, etc. They finally got it right this season by mimicking Nike’s 2014 template, which they’ve slightly altered & renamed (Premier Strategy), but any jersey purist knows where that inspiration came from. (I posted a video from an unbiased source that tracks uniform designs across all major sports that echo’d these sentiment in the Adidas/Nike thread)

You couple that w/:
-The lack of up to date merchandising available
-Issues of posting things as “available” on their site when they are either sold out or discontinued
-Pawning off items that are not Miami Hurricane branded or associated w/ our program that’s any shade of orange or green using our site to offload these unsaleable items
-An inability to sell designs that are off-putting to our fan base,

and u have a relationship that’s not mutually beneficial for either side.

To further highlight this, as an example:
-if U go to FSU’s Nike site, there are 67 Nike branded FSU items, including Nike’s newest & arguably most popular everyday shoe for FSU’s team shoe; by contrast
-if U go to Miami’s Adidas site, it states “27 items,” but of those 27 items, 12 are officially Miami branded w/ the other 15 in colors that are different shades of green or orange (as I highlighted above). The reason we know these are not Miami branded is by simply clicking on the “available colors” & u’ll see yellow, blue, gray, pink, turquoise etc. for that same item. Those 15 items r simply Adidas’ products & they r leveraging our fan site to try to offload these (poor business practice).

This debate has nothing to due w/ brand loyalty vs. business partnership. @TheOriginalCane was one of the biggest proponents of the switch to Adidas, so for him to now speak out against them is due to just cause. He’s seen the numbers, & I know personally he’s experienced Adidas’ customer service/outdated site info.

Adidas doesn’t have the infrastructure or leadership to cater to more than one athlete or program at a time. Tracy McGrady highlighted this as their relationship went sour, & he was very disgruntled how he was treated as his career began to wind down after the revenue he generated as a premier player. Right now, Adidas is in bed w/ Pat Mahomes, & they just struck a new, lucrative deal w/ his Alma Mater. Last yr, UW was Adidas’ baby b/c of them being Adidas’ first school in the CFP.

Think about our run to the Final 4; Adidas put so much weight behind their basketball crown jewel, Kansas. Two of their surprise programs went to the Final 4, both us & FAU. What did Adidas do? They gave both of us jailhouse white, non branded Adidas sweatsuits along with clearance rack shoes (literally). Now compare that KU who went to the Final 4 & Adidas exploited the **** out of their run w/ merchandise for fans & players.

But, let me circle back to TT for a minute:

I just highlighted that if we go to Miami’s Adidas page, we have 27 items available, but only 12 of which r branded. We’ve been w/ Adidas for 10 yrs, correct? OK; TT has been w/ Adidas for less than 4 months, yet if I go to their Adidas page, they have 231 items available for sale, 30 of which are TT branded!!! How? How does a program who haven’t been around as long as we have, have more branded items for sale on the official site?

When someone like @TheOriginalCane is highlighting that our partnership is in ? when we’ve been considered a priority program, it’s worth noting b/c he is pro-Miami Hurricanes. We’re leaving $$ on the table by not having the same amount of fan, program branded items for sale like other Adidas’ programs, including newer ones. These r the facts, regardless of personal feelings.

Hey @Rellyrell , be careful or @GrozDozer will give you a hard time for lengthy posts that he feels should have been DMs.

He's sensitive to having his time wasted.
A day later and still butthurt someone told you to stop posting novels on the site. Nothing he said should have been a DM. He’s also not a self important gas bag who can’t post less than 10K words a day like yourself.

This is almost as pathetic as the time you lied about Miami Gator Mike gator chomping you at Publix. ******* nerd.

Sooo...now you're just making up bull****. Good for you.

I realize that you've lived your entire life as a bully, and are not accustomed to anyone standing up to you with no fear.

The things that bother you are just...bizarre. You need medication, you are clearly disturbed.

Grow up. Be a man for once in your life.

For the record I didn’t read more than 3 sentences into Rels response. I’m sure it’s great as most of his posts are. I did check the photos and while I don’t like a few of the adidas’s ones all of the Nike ones sucked.

I’m a fully grown man with a family and a successful business. You’re a preachy **** with a message board rep obsession. You’re mentioning me a day later for zero reason.
