Miami fan raises $1.5K to fly 'Fire Al Golden' banner at VT

Money talks. Not one of them give a **** about fans. And the fact that some of you are saying we are destined to be stuck with this loser is the precise reason we suck azzz. Cheapness. There is no worst fans than SEC inbreds. Just wait till any of them lose a couple games. We held it together for 10 years. Enough is enough

Cool. Where were all of these coaches for the last 13 years when we were hiring?

We are incompetent when it comes to coaching searches, there were quality coaches out there when we hired Shannon and then Golden, but we took the lazy and cheap approach. Point is we're spending the money to get a coach that can get us out of this irrelevancy that we're in, the administration just needs to be serious about the next search.

That's the whole point. What makes you think that the next time will be any different?

Are we supposed to just give up?!?!?!?!

And the answer is to support the loser? No people don't do things they know is easy, they do things that are hard even when the outcome seems unlikely. Go back through the history of the country and the world and you will see. When enough people say enough is enough.... Eventually they have to listen.

What quality coach is ever going to want to coach for this fan base?

For real, if a top coach is between choosing to coach for UM or pretty much any other top 50 college team, he will most likely choose the other team so he doesn't have to chance dealing with our ****ty fans.

Not to mention that we most likely won't be able to offer them top dollar like the other programs, so why would they ever come here?

Neg me all you want, but you banner flyers are F#cking idiots!

You are doing nothing to make change, just wasting your money embarrassing our program further, and 100% hurting our chances at hiring better coaches in the future weather you like to believe that or not.

You banner flyers actually think your doing something good for the program, but you are doing the complete opposite, yet you are too stupid to realize.

Enjoy negging me for this.

Consider yourself negged.

And after that...go root for another team with your loser mentality. The last time I checked mediocrity is not the standard at the University of Miami.

What kind of coach is gonna take this job? One with a backbone.

I will always root for the Miami Hurricanes, you guys on the other hand are actually rooting for other teams.

Why do I have a looser mentality?

B/c I don't think that rooting against the Canes or flying "Fire our Head Coach" banners are not a good idea?

Think before you type.

Think before I type? Jesus Christ are you retarded?

There's no one on this planet that cares more about this program than I do. I, however, like to think of myself as PROACTIVE, not REACTIVE. The current situation isn't going to change unless something dramatic happens. That something dramatic is an abysmal season that forces the administration to make a change.

Re-read that sentence about 145 times. Write it over and over on a chalkboard and let it sink in. After that..ask yourself why I'm rooting for losses.

Rooting for losses, under the current set of circumstances, is a **** of a lot more about "being a fan" than taking the Don BAiley Jr approach and sitting back hoping a miracle happens.

You keep your retarded logic...I'll keep looking for any angle that rids us of this loser and gets this program going in the right direction again.

And for the record I'll be rooting for VT on thursday while wearing my Canes gear from head to toe. Let that marinate.

What an absolute steaming load of ****. Between this self-glorifying, and laughable, nonsense "There's no one on this planet that cares more about this program than I do." and the pretense that the ridiculous steps you are taking are "proactive" measures that have any viable positive and influential outcomes, you are embarrassing yourself.

Again, thanks for making my point. All of those variables still exist. What evidence do you have that the next one will be any different?

Your point was which people view this as an opportunity?

This is a great opportunity. So where is your point?

Our only real problem is the decision makers are terrible but that has nothing to do with attracting a candidate.

One thing is very different, DS is leaving.

Are we supposed to just give up?!?!?!?!

Pretending you're doing something useful (flying a banner) that in reality serves no other purpose than to be an embarrassment to the fanbase, is somehow a better option? Does it make you feel useful and as if you had some control? Newsflash, it may make you feel that way, but it certainly doesn't have that impact in real life.

Are we supposed to just give up?!?!?!?!

No, you should fly banners. That will make Blake James competent.

There aren't many measures we as fans can do. I, like many others, don't have an extra $25k laying around to donate every year and to make my voice heard.

If you take away banners/billboards/advertisement, what's left? Fan attendance has always been and will always be dismal, so take away boycotting games as a way to show our frustration, emails to anyone in the administration is on a straight line to the spam filter, and bvtching on radio shows is just as productive as bytching on this freaking website.

We're not Alabama, Michigan, etc... the football program is an afterthought to 99% of the administration. They don't get embarrassed when we continually have 7-6 or 9-4 seasons. They will NEVER take the initiative. So we have to do what we can to show that there are people still out there who root for this team and want us to be what we were for nearly 3 decades.

No, you THINK that people view this as a great opportunity, but we certainly haven't heard about any future legends who tried to come here and were turned down. If it was the opportunity you think it is, someone would have taken the initiative and contacted UM.

So because you're frustrated and can't donate $25k, the answer is to take a measure that is embarrassingly ridiculous and ineffectual, and that paints the fanbase in an even worse light than it already is. Very effective.

And what impact do you think you will have? A banner was flown 17 years ago, and the result of that banner was Larry Coker, Randy Shannon, and Al Golden.

Does anyone remember the time Florida fans flew a Fire Ron Zook banner over the Outback Bowl, only to turn around and land Urban Meyer?

Of course you don't, because you're a stupid ******* Golden supporter with your head lodged inside your ******.

Auburn fans booed Gene Chizik at the airport when he landed to take the ******* job.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...ctKqBDqS3Q9iPdrOA&sig2=GOTsLEinhNjnRX3ScpFdPg

That really put the kiabosh on their ability to hire Mahlzan in at $2.3m.

Difference is that Auburn fans actually care enough to show up to games...even when they went 4-8 under Chizik. So any new coach knows he might be on the hot seat from fans right out of the gate, but at least they'll show up to games, support the team, and get behind the coach if he does well. That's a plus that UM doesn't have. Even if a coach does well and his team wins, he can still expect to see half-empty stands for nearly every game.

Dude, what do people even think of Miami fans. NOTHING. They don't exist. Across all Miami sports.

So to me, the banner lets people know that we're out there.

This is a great opportunity and I explained to you that isn't how it usually works. You have to get them. Maybe we should stop contacting Chuck Neinas as well.

Dude, I don't care. It makes my voice heard. I'm doing as much as I can. Honestly, what else is there to do?

You make it seem that because we have a bad track record, that we should just give up.

Fvck that, man.

Banner scare away a coach? Have you seen what bama fans have done? Plus i dont want no soft shoulder coach who is scared of some banners or what fans would say, i want a coach who will win and not give two sh¡ts about banners and what fans say

Thus far all of the media about the banners has pretty much been about the inanity of the fanbase. So if that's your goal, and your way of "doing something", congratulations on being successful.

Oh well, why have a football program then?

Is this really an argument? Seriously?

Nah, coaches are career networkers. Until you get that destination job you're always aware of what is out there. Make no mistake, there are guys out there who are aware of our situation and are ready to pounce when it comes open. Problem is, it's not the guys you think we're going to have a shot at.

If there is one constant narrative with these mouth breathers, it's woe is Miami.
