Miami Central Vs. St. John Bosco Tonight

I was there. My thoughts we need Bissainthe he may be our number 1 recruit given need. I don’t know who we are recruiting on Central’s oline but they got manhandled. Central just wasnt ready to play at the start. Fumbling the opening kickoff? Once their defense settled in they were okay… i hope we dont start like that vs alabama.

Been telling you guys for years, Florida football - specifically, South Florida football is MASSIVELY overrated. Florida teams aren’t that good compared to schools for Jersey, California, Texas and Georgia.

I honestly thought the score would be worse. A few friends and I predicted 55–15 Bosco win, so props to Miami Central to keeping the score closer.

If south Florida put as much money into their kids as those other states it wouldn't even be fair.

Those other schools may as well be colleges

That's coaching...
But there's NOTHING overrated about the talent.

We have a bunch of kids from the islands beginning to transfer up to Cali. We had 4 solid prospects from the class of 2023-2024 kids receive aid in attending Private schools for better opportunities. Cali starting to recruit American Samoa slowly and methodically lol. Kids are bypassing Hawaii and going straight to the West Coast. Two players from the High School I coach at received scholarships to play at IMG. One is at WAZU playing LB now and the other is #1 DT for the class of 2023. Mauigoa brothers, Francis and Francisco. We definitely need to dip into the Polynesian pool and start recruiting. I've already started to see some ACC and tons of SEC teams start to recruit from the Island or Polynesian geographical areas and communities.
Ive been saying this for years. We need to figure out Pacific Islander pipeline.

This is a dumb take.
Honestly it is a resources thing. Florida is so ******* backward. If you look at other states and programs, they have them on modern strength and conditioning programs (usually with a former collegiate strength coach making more money and working less). They have college-like nutritional programs and they pay coaches/assistant coaches.
Give Florida teams the same resources and they will dominate again... which they still win their fair share of games.
Why do you think miami, FAU, UF, Bama, etc. All these schools getting south Florida kids can put weight in them so easily? Sure any athlete from anywhere will grown in college but they are gaining like 30 pounds in the first year, sometimes first semester.
Lastly, other states have like 1 or 2 good schools (bigger states have like 5 or 6) we have that between Dade and Broward alone.
The kids go not flock to one school. If the best in the tri-county area ever did like they do in California, Maryland, Texas, jersey, etc. They would be unstoppable.

If South Florida teams had the resources teams in Texas, CA, GA, OH had, I don’t think they’d lose any out of state games.
This x1000. People don't realize how backward Florida is. As a strength coach, I can go anywhere in the country and get paid well, anywhere except here. Here we have someone's friend running a dumb ******* boot camp type workout for the kids. Not Strength and conditioning.

Times have changed. I went to a Central vs Don Dosco Prep (NJ) game when cook and yearly were there… central embarrassed them.

There is talent everywhere and most other states have much better coaching compared to south Florida. Add to the fact south Florida ball has been watered down for sometime now.

These games don't say much about talent. I think its more about coaching and resources at this point. Look at Gregory Rousseau and Sewell when they where in high school I bet sewell would of ate Rousseau lunch. But fast-forward three years Rousseau got that college weight room/ meal program and learned a few moves now he's to much for sewell.

How can Miami make this happen? Iv always though Polynesian kids would like the climate here a lot but we have had little to no success with recruiting them.
