Miami beats the Cuse... well....

It was atrocious and the defense again (like Stanford) allowed the score separation. We scored on 2 trick plays and a pick 6. And one was 💯 caveman Mario giving the finger to Fran Brown to be that guy. We’ll see if he is so creative when the game is on the line.

Wasn't the first trick play in a 0-0 game?

Complete lack of continuity in his play calling. The reverse pass could have about 4-5 options off it. Straight handoff to the RB with the motion. P/A off both the Rb and Toney with a shot downfield. P/A with a screen to the RB. P/A with a throw to Toney. And just a straight reverse. You run that 3-4x a game using the different options and it will stress a defense out. But we’ll likely never see it again.
It’s exactly what Georgia Tech does.

Miami pulls away from the Cuse after a desultory first half by the score of 38-10. In many ways it was like the Stanford victory. You can get away with a slow start against teams of this caliber and then pour it on late and win handily. But it still leaves you wondering how they fare vs better teams

I like the fact UM came out in spread and throwing the ball around a bit, I just wish they would add some quic-tempo to it. What I found interesting is the gadget plays Dawson brought out late as the game was basically over.

I did like the fact that due to injuries we saw some young guys flash like Pringle and Upshaw. Trader had some drops but the reality is you probably need to keep feeding him with the injury to CJ Daniels.

Miami wins, they are 7-2 now. Now they have some tougher games. Im not convinced that how they played today (especially in the first half) is good enough to win out against the remaining schedule.
More spread. More Pringle. More Upshaw. Less Jojo. More 4 wide (no Brauman). More tempo. More fun plays.

Do that and you win all these games impressively. It’s simple.

This is setting up perfectly for an end to the season where we beat NC State and VT, get (a portion) of the fanbase fired up for tiebreakers, only to collapse (again) in Pitt.

Sort of like eating a handful of viagara only to be stood up by your date.

Again.
Hey there’s always the offseason…

Unless you knew they’d score 10 when it was 0-0.

See, you're getting it. No one knew that the score would be, so the game was still on the line at 0-0.

Just admit that you forgot when we ran the trick plays.

Fixed it for you Stevo.

We won 10 twice in 20 years. Once with Richt and once with Mario.

This team can still easily drop 1-2 more games.

There is absolutely no guarantee the defense and special teams will give the offense the shot in the arm they gave us this game.

If we win 10 this year why would we not be upset about still missing the ACCCG and 12 team playoff???

All of this with supposedly top 5 spending and NIL with a top 10- top 5 roster to have nothing to show for it?

A congratulatory pat on the back for the possibility of a 10 win season is worthless given our spending and talent level.
Not top 5 NIL, don't have a top 5 roster either.

Around 8-12th NIL.

247 has Miami at 15th in team talent rankings, I think we are little higher than that.

It was atrocious and boring like @k9cane described about the slog mindset. The defense again (like Stanford) allowed the score separation, not a dynamic offense. We scored on 2 trick plays and a pick 6. And one was 💯 caveman Mario giving the finger to Fran Brown to be that guy. We’ll see if he is so creative when the game is on the line.
Yep I wanna see us doing all that creative **** when we’re actually playing a real P4 squad

Am I shocked that this annoying fanbase is throwing a hissy fit after a four touchdown conference win? Of course not, but it's almost like no matter what happens, it's not going to be good enough. This team would have to win by 70 for some people on this board to not be miserable. It's okay to enjoy a comfortable, albeit uneven win over an overmatched conference opponent.

Was it an even performance? NO. Was it an optimal performance? NO. That said, there was plenty to like, and plenty to talk about in film study.

1)Dawson called plays to get guys loose, get guys having fun again. The issue with Mario, and the way he runs the program is that it becomes a grind. You can see it in the playcalling, in the way guys were executing. Guys just didn't have juice. Sometimes a playcaller has to get it going by getting some trick stuff in, things that get guys doing something different. You could see guys perk up after that first TD. Dawson did it right, the question is whether he will continue to keep it full go the rest of the season. Let these guys have fun, let them get out in space and make plays. Stop making football more difficult than it actually is.

2)Young players flashed. Pringle showed that he has a future, you saw other youngsters make plays. Justin Scott is going to be a problem, if he can stay on the field. The play he made on that end around was spectacular, especially considering that he's a defensive tackle and he's running down receivers. As we get into the final weeks of the regular season, freshmen should start figuring things out, and their roles should be increased, especially as inevitable injuries start to test team depth.

There are a ton of things to work on, including the slow starts. Why didn't Dawson get the energy going a bit earlier? The defense brought their own juice, what's the issue offensively? Is there a lack of leadership? Whatever it is, a lot of these games wouldn't even be close if the O could string together a couple of decent drives early.

I hated about 95% of the offense today especially the stupid man in motion swing hospital pass to Malachi that lost like 6 yards and where he was injured.

Great ******* call there, Dawson!!
If Moore makes a single block, Toney is likely running for at least 10-15 yards. It's a quick way to get a playmaker in space. That said, the play looks awful if your receivers can't block.
