Take a chill pill bro. I agree with you, but they did have a bad day relative to every other day. Just don't think pointing out one year of adidas not making a profit for one single year when they did for the previous 30 is a strong argument (though I know you were trying to refute the point that Nike is losing money). As you alluded to, the stronger argument is showing the difference in profits between the two year after year.

Whatever. You summarized "what you read" and I pointed out several different elements with my post. It was a response to a dip**** like Calinative who has no idea why stock prices go up and down.

If you read what I posted, then you should have had more takeaways. Happy that you have that now that I reiterated some things. No need to go after my posts when I am incredibly fair in my presentation. I'm not an adidas fan, but I can acknowledge when they do things right.

And I have to admit that the 2001 throwback is fire.

Would it be safe to assume UM requested and received assurances from Nike that they will continue to be supportive of the local community (HS teams, NIL contributions, etc.)? Maybe that's what's included in the "non-cash" portion?

There's a lot of things in the "non-(UM)-cash portion".

I'd imagine that Nike committed to Heisman and other award campaigns for UM players, the NIL program that has already been announced at other schools, and a search for some SoFla high schools on which to bestow some love.

I would also not overlook the importance of the "up-front cash" element as it relates to a certain check we may have to write to exit the ACC. We can easily keep the lights on and the water bill paid with our "patch cash", which will likely exceed the ACTUAL cash we receive from Nike.

I'm also going to be very curious on the royalty rate and structure.
TOC - do you know when the patch announcement is happening? Relatively soon?

Im just seeing this... im disappointed adidas didn't match nike's offer after all this time together.

Nike better not f*** us over with uniforms again like those bra straps and eyebrows style crap.

Also, why only 200m....didnt Penn state got 300m? We are way more marketable than pedo state man smh

I agree. I liked being the true flagship for Adidas and it really felt like we were 1A for them instead of being one of the many for Nike. It felt like Adidas was on the up especially in SoFla, was also kinda hoping they’d help get us with a true men’s soccer program. Alas they didn’t pay up, it’s all about that cash. We’ll bring Nike back with our cultural engine. They invested in the best.
Adidas did work in 7 on 7 and south florida but I dont think we been a flagship for them, they didnt treat us like a flagship.. Maybe by proxy you assume that but they could of did soo much more.. I dont blame them tho because even our admin didnt treat us like flagship product for 20 years.. So cant complain

FYI, I just saw pix of the adidas 2001 jersey and...it looks good...very good...

Please support CanesWear by purchasing some of their massive inventory.
Do you know if they run true to size? If I wear XL t shirt you think 2x would be good?

I would expect it very soon. Actually, I expected it earlier. Not sure what the holdup is, and maybe they just wanted to announce the apparel deal first.

All that is left on the agenda is the patch deal and the AD hiring.

Thin green stripe down the side of the jersey, with orange on either side of the green stripe?

For the record, NOBODY believes that Pedo State is getting $300M.

And if what I've heard about the royalty is correct, UM will exceed $200M in total contract value.

While I do not know, I would expect the fit to be similar to prior years. It does not look like they used the Nike "mesh" material, they are using (largely) the same construction as the normal jerseys.

Caveat: FROM PICTURES.

BTW how asleep at the wheel must Dan Radakovich have been for not even trying to negotiate a deal with Nike. I'm just a football fan and it was very obvious Nike could potentially be looking to make a deal here with a Championship program with a history of dominance. Incompetence really.

I mean the contract we signed wasn’t good, and we weren’t good during that period so it kinda makes sense. But ever since we’ve treated ourselves like a flagship they have in spades. They’ve signed a bunch of our stars as bonafid stars and as recruits now. I like being the 1A versus one of the field

Just stopped by to give @Hurracanes the credit for mentioning the "real-life" 2001 Alt Jerseys look great and not to be worried.

Not that he needs the validation. Just appreciate the early info.
