Suppose ranking don't matter at this point. This isn't a championship caliber team . . . but, consider: Miami goes to Va Tech as a Vegas underdog, deals with some Covid issues, leaves some points on the field (2-3 Manny decisions were brain farts) and then dominates late when it matters - and they drop 3 spots. Really?
Again, maybe they're where they should be, yet seems a little odd.

Better to be underrated than overrated. Dropping in the polls is upsetting but I can’t definitively say we would beat any of the teams ranked above us.

I agree and this is true. You don't have to be unrealistic. like too many today, to be a good fan or otherwise.

1) OL can’t open running lanes or protect the QB
2) D backfield has gotten worse since 2019
3) LB’s are essentially invisible— missing Shaq yet?
4) no punt return threat at all — Reggie Wayne we miss you
5) 100yrds+ of penalties each game like knuckleheads who just learned how to play football

Oregon did pull away in the 4th and put the game away. Miami has been winning but needed heroic come from behind efforts the past 2 weeks against unranked opponents. We went from playing ok and hanging on against Pitt and UVA, to playing poorly for 3 quarters and turning it up in the 4th the last 2 weeks. If we continue to win we'll be in the conversation on December 19th but style will matter. We could really use a decisive win against GT on Saturday night.

Oregon and Wisconsin got late starts and now they're getting bumped up because they're playing good football.

Indiana a surprise with their undefeated start and some quality wins.

It is what it is. Keep winning as some ahead of Miami are going to eventually lose.

The biggest hole in that argument though is we were underdogs, so in essence they punished us for exceeding their expectations.
The ranking is not the issue as much as picking us to lose, we win and you drop us??
