Memnon blink twice if you're ok

@Memnon I'd love to know what the deal was on the Cal TD play where I'm sure you saw the TD coming even before the ball was snapped. Even my baseball playing *** was screaming who the ***** gonna cover that guy!!?? And he was wide open.. And he wasn't even the one who was open for the TD. I bet you know exactly what play I'm talking about.

I'm ecstatic.

My favorite QB is slinging the ball all over the field for my favorite team & we're WINNING.

Whenever this team goes full Air-Raid & decides to drop the charade of the Power-run, we're fxkin unstoppable!

The Defense is still a ways away from being Championship level due to lack of athletic prowess in the Secondary & LB units, but we're good enough to win 10+ games this year, as I expected us to do coming into the season.

Currently as it sits, we're among the top 2 best teams in the ACC & likely one of the best 15 in the country. We're due for at least one boneheaded loss down the lines, but right now the best of all the numbers is in our Loss column - 0.

I didn't post recaps for the last 2 games because I didn't think anyone wanted to hear my opinion. But I'm all-in on this season. THIS IS THE YEAR... Next year, who knows, but I know right now is the time for us to win something.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming:

I’m not too concerned with the running game. I think it’s there when/if we want it.

What worries me is our defense. This is shades of 2003. Waste of a championship side of the ball (in this case, offense) bc the other side of the ball is not to the level.

The whole “pure passing teams can’t win titles” reeks of the same **** that “teams that shoot a ton of 3s can’t win titles” did.

How many teams with legitimate high end talent on both sides of the ball have been pure passing teams? Why is it that people are dead set that a style of play that under-talented teams have utilized to win 10 games can’t win a championship if a team with a good defense and NFL level talent installs it? It’s just because it hasn’t been done before. People used to say the same thing about teams with mobile QBs. Or teams running spread offenses. People have a hard time accepting that something that hasn’t been done before can be done.

I’ll be sure to tell LSU to return their 2019 championship trophy.
First round RB, 5.0 yards per carry as a team and, more importantly, they had Hall-of-Fame talents at QB, WR1 and WR2. Not a repeatable model.

Last year’s Michigan team was even more one-dimensional in the other direction, with no generational talent, and they won the title.

Now, I don’t want to be Michigan or any other one-dimensional team. But winning teams have the ability to power-run when necessary. The Alabama 2020 model is the ideal.

I’d rather go with a proven formula over decades (including last year) than try to be the first.

Passing teams win championships. Pass-only teams do not.

Ironically, we already tried to be Michigan with Gattis

The LSU and Michigan teams are a stark contrast and reveals there’s more than one way to skin a cat. For me , the key is to use what you have and give them the best opportunity to be successful.

I agree offense is championship material. I agree passing attack is the core, and we’re going to need a *moderately* improved running attack to stop better teams in the CFB from just selling out.

Defense needs a come to Jesus moment. Can we get Ed Reed to wake up the secondary at 2am to start training?

+1 for LC recaps

Man, just got flashbacks of Virginia Tech and Tennessee

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (however he spells it) was a really good RB for that ream. Over 1400 yards. You need to keep the defense honest or the LB’s will just drop 10 yards back on the snap and take away all the crossing patterns.
We average more rushing yards per game and more yards per rush than 2019 LSU.

Are they sending back 1st round RB they had too?
Miami rushes for more yards at a higher clip per carry than LSU did. I don’t care if they had one guy get 90% of the carries

Do you care if our numbers are inflated by 4th and 5th string RB and the softest schedule in FBS history?

Pure passing teams don’t win big.

We want to be Ohio State, Alabama, Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma (on offense). Teams that throw like crazy but can beat you both ways.
Honestly thought we were going to put a big running game night on display to build on but with all of the quick big plays that Cal grabbed that idea was quickly scrapped to throw our way back into a win.

That game did prove to me that we can run when we want too and I’m still pleased that when we get into the red zone we always are able to punch it in… shows we can get it when we want it.

I think the point is LSU had someone in that backfield that other teams worried about and had to account for. They were not strictly a passing team, they could hurt you with the run as well. Thats what we want to be

And my point is that our rushing offense is better than theirs was.
