Meet Malik Rosier's QB Coach - David Morris

Oh ok .. punting is literally all form it’s not about having a good leg that’s why place kickers can punt usually but punters can’t usually place kick ... I think feagles has a mental block right now I hope he gets over it .. if you don’t mind me asking how’d he look ?

Said he worked a bunch on release and plant with him. Said something about watching film on him from last year he had a problem with getting consistent hip activation? I really don't know what all that means lol. I trust this guy though. He works with Chris Boswell, Cairo Santos, Caleb Sturgis, John Hekker all the time in the offseason. He trained Sturgis and Austin McGinnis all through their highschool years too. He knows his stuff. I think he'll help for sure.

I envision Parrotnose peeking in Coach Rick's window on Christmas morning. He sees him exchanging gifts with Jon followed by hugs all around and thinks "That should be me. I'm going to show his precious Jon. I'm going to light him up on CIS EVERY chance I can.....no matter how big a reach it is!"

Security then arrives on a golf cart and Parrotnose scampers off into the mangroves....revealing that he has no pants on for some unknown reason too.

I know feagles has a wonky form .. I think at times when he didn’t get a perfect snap he tried to rush the catch and mold and it threw off his timing on everything which caused him to rush it or shank some punts ... but **** I actually like the sound of the coaching ... any baxa sightings or did they not get into live special teams yet ?

Next, OP will lambaste Richt Jr. for not getting Risier all thick 'n veiny.

Cue hot chick gif.

He said they just worked on kickoff a little, but nothing as a team yet.

The criticism against Jon and CMR over Malik's "lack of improvement" is unwarranted. You guys forget that last year's version of Malik was in fact a vast improvement of his former self! That is a testament to Jon and CMR.

So now Malik is working with another QB coach. THAT'S GOOD YOU CRAZY ********!!! Credit Jon and CMR not just for sanctioning this move (the previous knucklehead coaching staffs did not always approve outside coaching influence), but apparently for spearheading it. Nothing wrong with saying, "Son, I've taken you as far as I can take you, now let's get someone else to help you reach your next level.". That's not a sign of poor coaching, it's a sign of good, mature coaching!

I'm as harsh a critic of Rosier as anyone else on this board, but this move actually gives me hope.

GO CANES!!

Did Malik not clearly say he spoke with Mark Richt then went Morris for QB help. Well if you have QB coach on staff that is paying paid by the University and after you speak with your head coach you then turn to your private QB coach. What they **** is Jon Richt being paid to do?

Go Canes
1) Malik did not "clearly say" he went to Morris for help. He said when he "went back" meaning home, he & Morris "talked" (meaning Alabama, where he's from). Don't act like he kicked Jon Richt to the curb or went over his head. Got a good tip from his hometown coach while home for the offseason. All players keep in touch with their good former coaches.
2) We haven't had time to see whether he's progressed to know how Jon Richt is doing. Last year was Malik's first as a starter. This year we'll see whether he's progressed or not.

I know this: Malik won 10 games (would've been 11 w/ Arkansas State). Yes - he was dog **** in some of those games but still won 10 games - something that no Canes QB had done in more than a decade. Won the Coastal - something no Canes QB had done ever. Right now, I'll gladly take CMR and Coach Jon over what we've had before. Just let it play out before you knee jerk and throw the staff under the bus based on one Camp presser.

What are you not understanding that Richt Jr. is not able to work with Rosier extensively in the offseason? Hence why Richt told him to seek an outside coach to improve.

Malik has been working with Jon Richt for 3 years now. Show me the marked progression in his development. Again this thread is more about Jon Richt's inability to move Malik to the next level more than anything else.

Go Canes

I'm critical of Richt Jr. in many aspects. But you do realize that Richt also works with the QBs as well, don't you?

Maybe Rosier has a shorter ceiling than the other guys on the roster.

Exactly.

I mean it would make you think that there’s an NCAA strictly imposed limitation on how much time a coach can spend coaching players, thank God RichRod at Michigan never got busted for that.

You’d also almost think that a good percentage of starting P5 QBs work with their own QB coaches in the offseason, because that never happens all the time.

Paramus hit this head on as usual.

And a couple of months ago he indicated that he should use his living allowances and invest in an outside coach during the offseason so he had a chance to make the NFL.

Can Rosier get his money back from QB coach Morris, clearly he got fleeced. His accuracy is so much worse. What a disaster.

uh I dislike the job richt jr has done as a coach and in recruiting as much as the next guy, but to **** on him cause someone is using a qb coach is pure stupidity.
