Meet 2016 ATH Cavin Ridley

Most of the people on this board are middle class whites.. they have No idea is what a broken home looks like...

Middle class white people in Miami?

I remember the bumper sticker from the 70's and 80's, "Will the last white person to leave Miami please take the flag with them."

Broken homes are not the sole property of inner city minorities.
Unfortunately, it's a problem that covers all social and racial strata.

Both the Ridleys will have an extremely hard time getting into any BCS school, let alone UM. Don't get your hopes up folks.

This is where ICE can come in handy. Finding ways to get kid qualified.

If someone happened to be a middle class African American, or middle class Latino would it be different? Then would "they" be able to understand what a broken home looks like?

Some middle class "whites" came from broken homes. Some have worked with kids who come from broken homes. ****ed up family situations aren't exclusive to skin colors. ****'s everywhere.

I still think some AA's and Latinos who are well off try to disassociate themselves with the lower class people of their respective ethnic groups. I would even say white upper class would also disassociate themselves making it less likely for them to fully comprehend what a broken home feels like. They might be able to sympathize, but having empathy for I doubt that.

Lu,
I can understand that statement.

I hear where you're coming from. I read your statement below, to Lu. However, you sound very ignorant when you turn it in to a race issue. As Lu says, the "broken home issue" does not discriminate. There are more places than just DC and Baltimore that suffer from the same issue...regardless of race.

Lets get back to the kid. Why does he like UF?? Kinda seems weird since Calvin is a Miami lean and I haven't heard Calvin mention UF much. Hope both of these young men get to the U!

Agreed... there are more places.

Thanks, this is what I'm here for. If I want racism and bickering I'll go to the WEZ.

Very strange about UF especially considering how close they seem to be. Hard to imagine his older brother and SBB being Canes and him growing up a Gator fan. Hopefully we get Calvin and SBB this cycle and give Cavin no choice lol

Golden better get to work on this trio too, I hate how they did a 180 on wanting to commit early when we were comfortably ahead.

These two kids have a long way to go in their recruitments.

Our fans would do themselves a favor if they forget about these guys until their respective signing days. Not saying don't keep tabs on them, but just don't worry about what schools they are talking about.

Just my opinion though. Da **** do I know?

You know how it is homie... My whole family is huge cane fans... Except my youngest brother. Love the Gators. Just wanted to be different. Hope Calvin talks some sense into lil bro! Lol

I am not sure about the rest of the board, but most people I know in this country today are hanging on by their fingernails. Sure some or hanging on slightly higher up the scale but few are "moving on up" anymore. Unless you are a kid who's parents are still paying your bills, life has been getting harder and harder. It is not just certain groups anymore. Those who live nicer do it because of better credit. More people are coming down the ladder now than going up. I hope these two kids catch a break, but I haven't had anyone tell me, "poor old man, still working your rear end off and very little to show for it."

These kids' talent give the a better shot at success than 98% of the country. ****, check out Randy's youth. Might have been bad HC but what a victor of adversity. I taught kids like this years ago and it can make you cry, but it is still on them to pick themselves up and get though it. I feel sorry for the slow, fat short kid, with limited brain power, in a bad situation. That kid has problems with few solutions. These kids might have great problems, but they have a very clear solution that include a free education and ends with millions of dollars.

Totally agree, those kids need a mentor, not a street agent, who can help get them on the right track. They have a big future in front of them if they can get the academics and non-football stuff stabalized.
