Beat ND and VT and nobody will be able to say anything.
Sports Illustrated (Shocker) was going after Miami today too for it
Miami: Let’s be realistic: This is not The U of old, despite the 6–0 record. The Hurricanes keep finding improbable ways to win, and it will be a shock if they get through November unscathed. Miami has won its last three games by a combined 13 points.

Clemson and FSU both did this on their playoff runs yet wet didn’t hear nearly as half of the criticism that they weren’t impressive or not good. The agenda is as clear as day period....

we will have to beat UNC at least as convincingly as VT did or the nay-sayers will not rest next week. We still control our own destiny which is the best we can hope for at this point. Win out and we will end up in the playoffs regardless of the nay-sayers.
GT and FSU have every chance to beat Clemson and nobody should be shocked when one of them does.If you haven't watched the games and only paid attention to the final scores (like a majority of the national media), you'd question Miami's validity at this point too. The facts are Miami has slug-fest win against rival FSU, a last second win against GT in a game that statistically, Miami dominated, and another close win against Syracuse in a game that Miami took it's foot off the pedal and allowed to get too close. They're a few dropped passes, an onside kick return for touchdown and a couple of mental breakdowns away from blowing out both Tech and Cuse. Those are the differences between being a really good team and a really great team. It seems they've found the formula for winning, they just need to get more consistent.
I generally agree with you. But the bolded argument goes both ways. Had those two unbelievable catches not gone our way, we'd have two losses. Some in the media are skeptical, because of these very close wins against less than top competition. If we remain undefeated with wins over VT and ND, we'll be ranked, where we should be. If we then beat Clemson, we will absolutely be in the playoff.
The whining is not from the media.
I said it at the beginning of the year, this was best GT team in a while. They will finish top 20 and knock off either Clemson GT or Georgia
FSU can just play spoiler now, they are as talented as Clemson so who knows

Technically not the playoff era for fsu though, no?
Absolutely not true. The year they got smoked in the playoffs by Oregon, I remember distinctly telling FSU fans they have no chance at a championship because every week they were laboring just to get out of the week alive with a win.
That team was falling behind 14 or 17 points every game and need crazy second halves. We are not putting teams away and giving them hope. I don't see us getting smoked no matter who we play. I'm confident in that.Technically not the playoff era for fsu though, no?

I completely forgot the playoff existed that year
Stop crying. We literally have an opportunity to earn respect by beating VT and ND

yep.
want to stop the crying? then just win. everything will take care of itself. people better be ready, because VT and ND will be tough games, and the Pitt game in late November is no cake walk either
