McCray is a ‘Cane

"UM wants me to be a part of their 3-4 scheme, rushing in and as a drop back linebacker."

:quag:

Its "recruit speak". Come on guys. I know some of yall have been around the block a few times when it pertains to recruiting. The kid is committed. If he blows up, he will take visits and enjoy the process a little but will still end up a Cane im sure. **** Yearby just visited USF. These kids want to travel and see different places.

And to add on to what another poster said, dont think for one second if we go 7-5 and get pistol whipped by FSU and UF this year that half of the guys in this class wont all of a sudden be "looking around". These kids are placing their bets just like us on the fact that we blow up this year. 9-10 win type year. And they want to make sure they have a spot before recruits come running back to jump on the bandwagon. I think at this moment the only 2 people we are saving a spot for until NSD are Cook and Lane. JMO.

I cannot say that I am not in favor of "reserving a spot." My goodness, we're sort of doing a 'Texas' right now with all of these early commitments.

His statement of “It’s a hundred percent right now, in the future I’m not too sure...” works both ways! You better believe Golden already have other prospects waiting in the wings.

If he blows up and have other schools like LSU chasing him, Miami has an advantage (because of his commitment). Now if he fails (e.g. regresses, fails classes, gets in trouble with the law, etc.) (God forbid, of course) and Miami has another prospect in mind, he will get the "Alin Edouard" treatment. :p

I'll just leave this here

lmao when i read this. some of these recruits would benefit from looking up the word "commitment" and "100 percent."

Means if he ha a good year he's a cane.

If he struggles staff may not take him

???

Ehh not really. Staff wouldn't have taken him now if they didn't think he was worthy of the offer. I think he's saying it in case he has a monster year and more schools come into the picture.

Maybe he's saying he wants to be here but if grades and qualifying to get into UM become a problem then he will have to reevaluate things. I think "on the bubble recruits" say stuff like this so that when/if they can't qualify for the school that they want to go to they can make it appear that settling for a school with lower academic requirements was a choice that they made and not one that was forced on them.

i think you're overthinking

This right here. I have no problem with him committing and saying that he is still leaving his options open. But do not say your 100% committed if your not! That's common sense.

It means he might take some recruiting trips. I mean, who wouldn't want to go on some free trips where they treat you like a king?

Well he said he would take a trip at the end of the season to Minnesota since they have been recruiting him for a long time. Going to Minn in Nov or Dec **** he is definitely gonna get some midwest big girl lovin, woo lord! I am not gonna lie those big midwest girls are something else, they bring a little something extra with their keigels. I think he sticks, because LSU is looking closer to home this year, thats why they cut the kid from FT Pierce loose after he committed to them.

Go Canes!

"I know this is the school I want to be at," McCray said. "I might go just visit some more schools to get out and go somewhere, just to see something new.

Stop being insecure guys, let the kid take his free trips.

I totally agree, if most of us had the chance to take 5 official visits, we would.
