McCloud

If he wants to come back have him as a ST ace/mop up DE. If he must pay LB have him only come in as a stand-up pass rush specialist on 3rd and longs.

If he's out there next season trying to figure out run fits and chasing TEs Manny and Blake must be sado-masochists.

OK, now we’re talking. So let’s break down the hypocrisy of fans or lack thereof:

1. We don’t want guys leaving early who have NFL potential, but are not quite ready for the NFL. Why? B/c most fans, last checked, still take pride in NFLU. So seeing our boys get drafted high is a great selling point. So if they are not quite yet ready, and they can help the team, then why leave? U r not only hurting ur draft stock, but U’re hurting the team in the process & our rep

2. We absolutely do not want guys who are hurting the program w/ production or lack thereof to continue to exhaust eligibility. Why? Well, we have a tendency to play age over talent. So if seniority is hurting the progress of younger players, & said seniority is a liability to the on-field production, then yeah...it’s time to move on. It’ll be different if it was true, open competition here, but we’ve have a plethora of evidence that age supersedes talent, which is fine, when age is warranted

3. If our LBs are not in a position to overtake a LB position....well, u can’t blame talent when the guy who’s been over the LB recruiting has been here for 5 going on 6 yrs now. That entire LB room & how they move is on him, Patke, & now Baker. So; if U’re going to complain about LB talent, well......u gotta point the finger at the commonality. Ppl were so quick to point fingers at Rumph at the CB room, while praising & letting Manny & Co. skate by to our LB room. #’s r there, sure, but if the argument is the young guys are not in a position to overtake McCloud??? Oof on the talent gap.
I’d also have way less problems with it if we knew he was going to be depth and a leader. But Mandy is going to keep trotting him out there to make the same mistake for the 5,000th time and show no regards for accountability or a meritocracy.

Trot him out at what position?

This dude is going to continue to steal reps. All I can do is laugh. Go home Roger.

Manny wasting scholarships. A standing scarecrow can make as many tackles as McCloud. Manny wasting off season coaching moves by keep dead weights like Rumph and Baker. A crash test Dummi standing on the sideline can make just as many gametime adjustments as Baker.

It’s one step forward 2 steps back, which puts us behind the dam eight ball again!

My mood waking up and seeing Rumph and Mccloud are still around in Coral Gables.

Seniors coming back don’t not count against the 85 limit.

I wouldn’t trot him out at any position, but if he wanted to come back to push guys and know he’s not seeing the field other than an emergency, then fine. But you know that’s not going to be how this plays out.

We allow the same thing on CIS, so y’all should be used to it...

Yeah, I don’t understand knocking the kid for coming back. He’s not going pro and he can further his education and help the team in some ways. Simpson may make him serviceable as another backup on the line. He brings experience and some leadership. If the coaches give him too many reps, as someone else said that’s on them. I get the concerns with Manny over-valuing seniority, but he’d really be doing it at his own peril, which would only hasten his exit. We should leave the kid alone. It’s a smart move on his part which is why everyone knew it was coming.
