Max Buchanan having surgery today

Or, he's a freshman. He's not Sisi, who played at IMG. Cantwell played at a small schooll in rural Missouri. In a mostly run offense. He tends to play high & doesnt have the bend Congdon has. He's a tackle and he will be fine.
So basically you said he’s not ready, which is what I listed as an option.
Basically, I just offered a more plausible explanation.

Toradol screwed me up for weeks. Tramadol is great though.

Here is a summary of the video INJURY UPDATE On Max Buchanan | Miami Hurricanes Options at RG from CanesInSight:
Key Highlights & Injury News
Max Buchanan's Injury: Starting right guard Max Buchanan announced on Twitter/X that he underwent surgery following a leg/knee injury sustained in the Clemson game [00:03].
Timetable for Return: While the injury is considered long-term, current projections indicate it is not season-ending, and the expectation is that he will return later this season [00:38].
Miami’s Options at Right Guard
With a bye week to adjust, the video discusses several potential line combinations to fill the void:
SJ Alafua:
Stepped in at right guard during the Clemson game and played his best game of the season [01:09].
Jamal Merryweather:
Has rotated with Buchanan in past games (e.g., Central Michigan) and subbed in at right tackle when McCoy was briefly down [01:36]. His ideal permanent position may be guard [01:58].
Jackson Canwell & Lineup Reshuffle:
Freshmen Jackson Canwell could potentially play right tackle [02:11], allowing Francis Mauigoa or Frankie McCoy to kick inside to right guard where he previously excelled [03:28].
SJ Alafua at Center / Ryan Rodriguez to Guard:
Another alternative proposed is moving SJ Alafua to center—his natural long-term position—and sliding Ryan Rodriguez over to guard [04:15].
Big Picture
Schedule Outlook: Miami has already completed tough conference road trips (Stanford, Wake Forest, Clemson) [05:55]. The upcoming stretch features more favorable home games, giving line coach Alex Mirabal time to experiment and gel the updated offensive line ahead of major late-season tests [06:31]
Thank God that we have Mauigoa pulling double duty between the NFL and college. Without him we’d be seriously screwed. (PAUSE)

Jesus. Max spelt better in his tweet than the clanker.

Best case scenario is meniscus and that can be 6 weeks to many months. So who knows. I wouldn't bet on him being back this season.
Nah w meniscus if they shave it and clean it up it’s a few weeks. Bowers had it done
**** I played golf TEN days after bucket year of meniscus this year…..I know it’s not playing football BUT, you rehab day one get the strength and flexibility back quickly.

For a big time athlete and with the trainers and facilities 4-6 weeks max imo…if it’s meniscus

What about moving RR to guard, where he played in 2024, and SJ to center, where everyone seems to believe he will end up?
I have a hard time believing that a coordinated athlete can’t quickly learn to snap a ball 3-5 yards.
I just watched @DMoney podcast. He stole my idea!

Or I stole his?

Or great minds think alike?

He just posted on X. Not sure if it’s a season ender.
When our best corner goes down on the first play of the first game we played this year, and our second best corner just thereafter, and its been an avalanche ever since, we've got to wonder why?

Why is this occurring? I believe We had similar issues during Mario's second year and I was totally humiliated by our audience of MD's when I questioned this. I recalled a common answer was that this is football and injuries will occur. But at this pace?? Two or three new injuries every game for extended periods of time?? Give me a **** break.

Issues being brought up are fair. Are we working so **** hard during practices that our bodies become so weak we just simply cant take the pounding? It seems that we make a good play and suddenly that player is out for an extended period of time. Even our biggest players!!

So what's changed in the strength and conditioning area since last year? For one, I believe we have new coaches? If that is the case we then should review our system. Are we giving our players proper down time to recuperate.

It seems as though the majority of the injuries are either upper or lower extremities. These are usually the worst type injuries. ******* depressing!

As an Engineers that reviews processes going awry regularly, there are three questions we use that usually drive us to the root cause of negative issues/behaviors. 1) What worked?, 2) What did not work properly and 3) What are we doing to prevent negative reoccurrences? Are we working smarter along with working harder??

Thoughts??

Always a degree of randomness and luck involved

But IMO, it’s our style of play

On offense we run to bruise you, push piles, and have receivers getting in the thick of it blocking

On defense guys fly around like heat seeking missiles and there’s some friendly fire. We hit to hurt and often at the expense of technique

We don’t seem to have many practice related injuries, but you do have to wonder if there’s some level of fatigue accumulation. I’m sure the staff will assess

Thought is you are over working your engineering brain. You need to take some time to recover.

Shoulders, knees, and toes…

It is football. This **** does happen.

Wake’s turf was more physical than our players bodies. One toe, Two knees, and three shoulders.
