Somehow Blake will here the name Campbell, hear it's popular with the fan base, and announce he has signed Naomi Campbell to be our next coach.

He signed an extension last year keeping him at Iowa State through 2024 at $3.5 million per year. I am assuming there is no change in buyout terms from the first agreement. Even if there a reduction in the buyout from the remaining amount due on his contract to say $7 million, do you really see Miami paying that much as well as his salary on top of that?

For that matter, what is the buyout for Babers? Everyone seems to be mentioning him as well and he just signed an extension.
I guess it will really depend on if Miami wants Campbell. 'Cuse is a private school so I'm not sure about Babers buyout

It's really simple Matt Campbell was offered a job by Bill Belichick in the scouting department for the Patriots. He has been well known throughout NFL circles. If you don't like him cool. But dont act like he can't spot talent or develop it. Cause that's not true

Then everybody being mentioned other than Mario is an inadequate candidate and Mario lacks on the other side.

Of course. Everyone is going to have their downside. I'm just leery of hiring CEO types that have zero experience recruiting on the big stage, at any level of coaching. Call it the Al Golden affect.

Campbell is a quality candidate I wouldn't mind him at all but there are a lot of quality coaches out there who could come here and win.

Freely admit Campbell is a CEO-type. He was OL\Run Game Coordinator and later OC at Toledo, before a promotion to HC at age 32. He fast-tracked his career to HC at MAC school, rejecting an offer to coach for Meyer at Ohio State. No problem there, he’s been successful.

The hype for Campbell is different than Golden’s. In the past two seasons Campbell has beaten Lincoln Riley, Mike Gundy, Gary Patterson, and Dana Holgerson. When those four coaches had superior talent. Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
