Marques Gayot to the U

I just confirmed it with him. Just weird we haven't seen a #WelcometoTheU yet

Well here is the issue UM only has room for 1 safety at this point and Kiy Hester is still on his OV and there was a strong possibility that he would commit this weekend so what is the staff supposed to do accept Gayot's commitment and then have Hester soured for the rest of his trip while being around some other recruits UM needs. I think the staff maybe looking at how they can take both Hester and Gayot in this class, before sending out a Bat Signal Welcome to the U.

Go Canes

They won't say no to Hester

Gayot can be a real nice safety here.

A couple of you are right, I think, that he's not a twitchy athlete, but he attacks the ball (and at its highest point), loves contact, and hits angry. Wanted and taken.

Sign Hester up, too, and suddenly we've got a real, real nice safety class.

Not a twitchy athlete, but good size and instincts. Should be a solid Strong Safety.

my thoughts as well.

Wouldn't be surprised with a move to LB down the road.

Some people think the same thing might happen to Carter.

He doesn't seem too dissimilar to Armbrister, to my eyes. Carter's huge for a safety but looked a little more flexible with + burst... could see him going either way but I'd guess he can stay at safety.

Who knows where these kids end up.... it's impossible to know how they'll grow and it's also extremely difficult to tell speed with film sometimes. Gayot seemed to be a ball magnet, that's for sure. Good sign from a centerfielder.

Just in case people didnt know, Gayot comes from the same school that produced RB Tre Mason from Auburn, who wanted to be a Cane, but i think it was grade issues...Good School for Talent

Yeah, if Hester wants in they will surely let him in

Welcome to the U young man, he was one I was hoping would flip to UM.

Now we just need to add Kiy Hester an I am thinking if Gayot did commit during an unofficial, in order to get a place at the table that could mean Hester is giving off the vibe he is ready to commit also.

Go Canes

Best thing is for Mayes at 6'2 you can mold him the way you want him as a huge cb or a pretty good looking safety with ball skill. DEPTH

Not trying to take anything away from this guy but if we are in need of a safety then why are some on here mentioning a potential move for gayot to LB with that being said this commitment scares me and I hope it does not affect hester who I feel is the true safety out the two if I had to pick one but congrats to the kid welcome to the family.

Welcome to THE U! Take him, Hester and JC. We need D. There are always recruits that fall off for grades and other things, so there will probably be room.

what I like the most is sticking it to clint "butt" hurtt

well Clint Hurtt cant recruit anymore for like a year or 2...he has that show cause penalty with the NCAA, so whoever took over Gayots recruitment, let him slip away...lol..Hurtt is probably kicking himself...LmaO

It's important to remember that all of us posting here are pretty much idiots, some more than others. We're just shootin' the bull with like-minded friends, we aren't qualified to make these calls *for real*.
