Mark Walton

Lets see, Golden is at Media Days, and the rest of the coaches are on vacation, so i can't imagine a good reason why no one would be answering if he calls. Probably just completely ignoring one of the top local running backs theyve had committed for almost a year because they forgot about him and/or don't want him anymore. Seems legit.

Four-star running back Mark Walton verbally committed to Miami on September 29.

Mark Walton has reclassified to the 2015 class.

He visited Florida State and Georgia over the weekend.

Could he be opening things up soon?

“I’ve been calling Miami and no one is answering,” Walton told 247Sports.com on Tuesday morning. “I’m not hearing from them. I just don’t want to de-commit. I’m going to wait until next week and if they don’t contact me then I’ll pull the trigger and open up my options. It might be time to move on. I’ve had that feeling, but I’m going to stay committed to Miami but a de-commit could be coming soon.”

The Miami (FL) Booker T. Washington standout camped at Florida State on Friday.

“I like how they pass the ball to their backs on screens,” Walton said. “(Tight ends) coach (Tim) Brewster isn’t telling me anything just to get me. He just wanted to get me on campus so I can see it for myself. He told me some reasons why to like FSU and how they won the National Championship. I like how (running backs) coach (Jay) Graham takes his time, correct things and breaks it down for you.”

The nation’s No. 14 running back in the 2015 class according to 247Sports.com Composite Rankings then went to Georgia the next day.

“I loved it,” Walton said. “I loved the atmosphere and felt the vibe. I was ready to work there. Coach (Mark) Richt pulled me aside. He knew me and where I was from. He said he was impressed with what I was doing. He asked me if I knew anything about Georgia and I told him I like how they pound the ball and run it. He told me to go talk to their running backs like Sony Michel.”

How do things stand now?

“I would say Florida State is one, Georgia is two and Miami is three,” Walton said. “I’m not worried about the other backs Miami has committed. I said that when I was at The Opening. I’m not worried about Jordan Scarlett, Dexter Williams or Jordan Cronkrite. I don’t care about that. I know I can outwork them. I’m just concerned about how inconsistent the communication has been. I’m trying to call them and no one answers the phone. The other guys committed after me and I felt like they forgot about me. If that’s the case I’ll go find another school.”

As a sophomore, Walton had 100 carries for 871 yards and 14 touchdowns helping Miami (FL) Booker T. Washington to state and national championships.

Lulz

Need Pete to clarify on this one. Seems weird.

Moar lulz pls

The excuses are coming for him to de-commit. IMO the other 3 RBs have more to do with it then the lack of "communication". We're suppose to believe he can't reach Ice

If that was the case, he wouldn't have a team who are favored to land 2 5 stars RB this year and another one who just signed 2 5 stars in front of us... Kid would be the dumbest of all time if that was the case!

Lulz indeed. This will get good.

Sony's parents got new jobs from georgia. If you think losing Walton isn't a big deal…. He will be a top 5 rated back in THE COUNTRY next year. He is a beast. The stories are real and this is not "new" news. If they close his parents, it's over.

Wrong Walton is not that talented, He is a good running back at a great program, I couldve put any running back on that team last year and they wouldve put up similar numbers. He is OT on a lil bit of HGH, not very explosive through the hole. I've watched over a dozen Booker T games over the last few years, he never jumped out at you like other RB's do. He is good but he is no game changer...not anywhere in the mold of Sony Michel, or Alex COllins not even close

None of the RB's in south Florida 2015 are as good as ANY of the top backs from 2014 class (or even Alex Collins). Walton will be better than Jordan Scarlett and Cronkrite.

Have to disagree..... Walton has no explosion throgh the hole..You were probably saying the same thing about OT 5 years ago. He was one of the top backs in FLorida and I never saw it....Nobody is really after Walton, Not FLorida not FLorida State, that should tell you something...m not losing sleep over him neither should anyone else

Yeah, nobody is after him, EXCEPT for Georgia, the DEEPEST & most TALENTED BACKFIELD in the NATION.....

And to that point, who's after Jordan Scarlett? Not FSU or Bama or UGA. It's Wisconsin? South Carolina? Lol

On FSU RB board Scarlett the 3rd back on their board behind Patrick and Frasier out of NC

Wow...

Come on, give me a break... Just pick up the phone and call your old coach... Sounds like he's looking to bail and needs an excuse... Guess what, those schools are loaded too...

It does look like he is looking for a reason to bail he told UGA he liked them because they were only bringing in one back, well FSU is bringing in 2 backs. Now he tells FSU it likes how they use the back out of the backfield.....smh

You been committed for over a year, your former coach is on the staff at The U now, but you can't get anybody to answer your call? Bull****

Like most everything you post, you sir are wrong. He will be a top 5 back nationally. He is talented. Sony and Collins are both amazing running backs, that I didn't compare him to. Reading Comprehension SMH

lol at top 5 back nationally.... when he "reclassified" (he's still 2016) he was the 4th best commit for UM... he's probably the 5th best RB in the state when you include Patrick ahead of him

Walton doesn't have Ice's cellphone number??? Where did he get these excuses from Travonte Valentine?

Never want to lose a kid from a pipeline school who has been committed as long as he has, but he is talking out of both sides of his mouth. I highly doubt anyone is ignoring this kid. **** or get off the pot. Don't go publicly one week saying it's all about the U and you don't care about competition and blah blah blah and then come back and say now Miami is #3 the next. Again, moral of the story: these kids are full of ****
