He has top tier talent every year, but fails to win the big game almost every year. I'll Pass. Has issues with discipline every year as well
 
There's not much of a drop off in talent between His recruiting base and ours. If he can't win with the types of platters he's had and has access to what in gods name makes anyone believe he would kill it here. He's a sub par coach that has had studs on both sides of the ball and still couldn't win it all.

2 of the most underachieving programs in the country are

Georgia
Texas

Georgia should have let him go and gotten another coach by now

Right now I honestly feel golden can do what he does at Uga. The unreal talent that has came through there and all they have is a varsity hot dog to show for it.

This is incredibly false... I am extremely familiar with high school football in Atlanta and it is exactly like Miami. There is a ton of talent but most of the TOP prospects leave the state. Every year the best players in Atlanta go to Bama, Auburn, Tenn, Clemson, S. Car, Ole Miss. And you saying Goldie can consistently win 10 games in the SEC (which is what Richt does) is straight blasphemy.

He's got to deal with a lot of tough competition in the SEC. Building a team that wins year in and out is no easy feet. In the ACC, without Bama and LSU to deal with he'd make the playoffs and rack up the conference titles for sure.
 
Since we talking a replacement for Golden, **** YEA! They will be a lot better this year with whats his name as DC. They got a load of DT's and are set to sign more on NSD.

The BIG difference between our recruiting groyunds and his is......DUDE doesnt even have to fight anyone for top prospects in his states....NOBODY.....**** we have 2 oTHER BIG TIME PROSPECTS IN STATE ON TOP OF THE TEAMS THAT ARE IN TO POACH...Top kids in GA only KNOW of UGA......even in there down years they cherry pick and get who they want.

Yet this guy still cant win sh*t....

* He has a backfield of 3 5 star first rd level rb's and watch him not win nothing....

* yall keep sayin SEC, SEC,./..well he plays in the WEAK division of the SEC..and doesnt even own that.

He is a bible thumper....that has his players run rampant and do whatever they want..and he fakes it or covers up.....

He's not Butch Davis level as a coach.....solid coach...nothing more....over hyped because he is at uga, and their in the sec.

I dont consider him a top 10 coach...he's in the second tier group of coaches imo. Yet he has more to work with yet comes up short constantly.

Seriously, the guy is a legit coach! If they beat Bama in 2012, Richt probably wins a BCS title over Notre Dame, and some of yall dumping on him are BEGGING him to "honor his UM pride like Harbaugh, and come save the program"!

He's won 74% of his games, overall, and 69% in the SEC. He's won 6 SEC East titles, and he's 9-5 in bowl games.

He's a top 10 HC in college football!

And UGA fans are only bitter because they have to listen to fans from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, and Alabama brag about winning a title ... But they can't argue that their program is better than all of them, except Bama, LSU, and (maybe) Auburn, over the past 10 years.

Bama has a top 2 coach, with LSU having another guy in the top 10. Auburn benefitted from have a freak season from Cam Newton ...

Mark Richt would be a dream hire for Miami! It's not happening, so it doesn't matter. But short of getting Urban or Saban, Richt would be among the best options in college.

This is hilarious ... Some Miami fans want Gary Pinkel or Mark Stoops to come coach the Canes, but "no thanks" to Mark Richt?!?!?

Sorry, pal, but UGA is in the process of building an indoor facility. Also, their facilities are light years better than anything Miami has to offer. Again, pretty good coach, but not top tier - and the program continues to fall short of expectations, and a decent portion of fans would rather see a more cut-throat head coach.

And it hasn't existed the entire time Richt has been coaching there. They just got it approved last year.

And who cares if their facilities are light years ahead of Miami? I'm not comparing Richt to Golden ... It's obvious Richt is an upgrade on Golden. That's not the debate.

But people knocking UGA as mediocre or average are delusional! That's a top 10 program in the country, and it's because of Mark Richt.

He hasn't won "the big 1", I get it.

So, he's not a top 5 coach. But if there are more than 10 programs who would prefer to keep their HC over Mark Richt, please name them ...

As for his recruiting ... Do yall realize how many transplants are in the metro Atlanta area? He loses in-state talent because those kids are exposed to much more than UGA and GT .... They've got family ties in Tennessee, Florida, the Carolinas, Bama, West Coast, East Coast, Midwest, The geography for UGA is not a benefit. Those kids don't grow up "dreaming of playing at UGA" because many of their parents are from someplace else.

It's just as easy for Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee. Auburn, or Alabama to get a kid from metro Atlanta as it is for UGA, and it has nothing to do with the coach. Some kids just want to get away ... And in metro Atlanta, many of them want to get away.

Except he has a better winning percentage than Butch Davis, and has done it in a better conference.

No matter what you think of the SEc East, it's better than the old Big East and the ACC Coastal ...

of course, the "over hyped" reference could apply to Butch and Richt, though ...

UGA is almost in the title hunt every year- FALSE, they have been in the title hunt 1 time in the last 9 years.
UGA is a consistent top 10 team- FALSE, they have been unranked at the end of the year 4 out of the last 9 years

gogeta and NVA nailed it.

And who gives a **** if Richt is an upgrade over Golden, who isn't?
 
Sorry, like Mark Richt personally. Class guy . . . but he is not a top tier, must-have coach. This place has top facilities, tradition, fan base, in-state talent and ability to recruit nationally, playing the last 4-5 years in the weaker SEC East and can't get over the top. You want to keep Richt and hope they don't make a coaching change anytime soon because the right coach can win big at Georgia.
 
Anyone looks better than Folden. Richt probably would have 3 Coastal championships and a ACC ring if he came in 2011. So could a LOT of other coaches.

Because Howard and Jimmy would have locked down South Florida while coaching at Georgia.... Those guys won titles with Florida talent. Talent they wouldn't have had at Georgia. Sure, Georgia can field a darn good team, but a GOOD coach can win a title at Miami easier than they can at Georgia.

How familiar are you? I lived in atlanta.
Wanna know why their leaving now....cause he sucks. None of the schools you mentioned mattered for the longest and still don't. It's all about Uga in ga. In atlanta metro area it's like ga tech doesn't even exist.
Just realize in any given year ga is the third/fourth beat football state and Uga owns that state despite what you say....he goes to war with no one instate....yet he can't get over the hump, again his side of the sec is weak sauce. And Uga lives off the pre season sec chyle that has them ranked in the top 10-15 every preseason so when they rack up losses their still top 25

Not sure his Christian church act will work in miami. UGA is a goon factory too.

The SEC east has been about as bad as the Coastal since Urban Meyer left UF, a 3rd rate big 12 team walks in and wins consecutive East championships when UGA is NFL factory...

I think AU is their locked in west rival, so it's not like they play Bama, and lsu every year.

they play vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, muschamps UF, USC, two div 2 teams, etc every year. But wow he gets 10 wins with 10 draft picks every couple or years.

he has a 50-50 bowl record and is famous for choking. He was the FSU OC when they put up 2 points in a national championship game.

But even ACC fans are SEC SEC brainwashed... hard to win in the SEC east herp derp.
