Mark Richt on ESPN

So many internet tough guys around here its hilarious. Good thing none of you are players on the team. They way a lot of you have gone downright looney toones regarding Richt is embarrassing. 1 bad year doesn't sum up Richt and will not.

Look at the QB he had? You guys also want to ***** and moan about him not having a franchise QB already in his 3rd year are delusional as well. Kaaya made a bad decision and left early which left us with Rosier and we all know how that went. Won 10 games miraculously and then it went downhill.

Anxious to see how we respond next year as this Freshman class was a great class on paper.
It's not that we had 1 bad season...we have had 4 game losing streaks, 3 times in the course of 3 years under Richt. I could even forgive that if Richt would step up and take responsibility by making serious changes to the coaching staff to include bringing someone in to take over play calling duties. But everything Richt says publicly looks like spin and delusion...guy is in denial or just doesn't give a crap. That is my main issue with him. Most others probably feel the same way.

Manny inherited just about everyone he has coached. He has done a great job with them but don’t act like they are his direct recruits.
That is the one thing I wish Manny was a little better at, closing the deal on the recruiting trail

I’m not saying he’s bad, but I feel like based on the 2017 and 2018 production he should be leveraging it better

1. If your goal is not to compete to win a championship then why play the game?
2. History will remember Urban as a championship level coach at Florida and Ohio State. History will forget who Richt was, along with every mediocre coach out there.

Richt was on ESPN this morning. I caught the end of it, they were asking him about Meyer. Richt was talking about how important relationships are, and he said, and I quote, "you can't talk to rings and trophies." Yes, especially if you don't have them.

Sad. Don't have the exact context either, but there are many winning coaches in history that have had tons of important relationships, along with rings and trophies.

Maybe it was a jab at JJ for daring to question his top 100 play calling and part time head coaching?

Winning doesn't have to be everything, but it sure as **** better be 1B or an extremely close 2 to family/relationships when your accepting fat checks like he is..instead every time he talks, it sounds like it might come in 6th or 7th.

UM

Look. Another person who's saying that the current QB situation is not his fault. It's year 3, Rosier may not be his guy. But Weldon, Perry, and Jarren. Moreso his guys that he didnt bother recruiting other QBs outside of this core.

Meanwhile, Bama just had a true frosh win them the championship and UCF had a 5'10" kid from Hawaii beat Auburn in the 2017 Peach Beach bowl. By comparison, we had a senior sh*t the bed the last year in the final few games. The staff's lack of QB development and recruiting also lead us to a 7-5 record in the weaker of the two ACC divisions, all while VaTech and others are having a down year, and we're fielding an elite defense.

You say...well look what he's got to work with at QB. I mean, who else is bringing in these players and who else is developing them?

At this level, yes it does. It has to be all consuming.

Can't compare players like tua and Perry.tua skill level and mental aspects of the game is ahead of Perry's.tua took the step to grow up Perry still learning what it takes.helps if Perry had a qb coach who knows what he's doing.

Because he is still regarded as being a **** of a coach even though most of you on this board can't stand him. You and other like you won't like this answer but it's the truth.

GO CANES!!!!
When Mark Richt retires or gets fired, there won't be any espn segments about it.

Your dreaming. If he retires it will carry weight all over the media. Again, your hatred of the man because of how this last season has gone is leading you down a ramp that is not reality. He will always have the recognition of what he did at Georgia...I know that he did not win the big ones but he resurrected that program and made them relevant in the early to late 2000's.

It ain't about Richt boss. It's about the sorry state of Miami right now. We're irrelevant, and as such, so is our coach.

Nobody cares about your pops like that, Jon.
