Mark richt= elite coach

So Coker, Tressel, Chizik, Brown and Fulmer are all elite coaches. Nonsense. Truly!

No one said that. Find me an elite coach that hasn't one a championship... you can't. Not ALL coaches that win a NC are elite, but ALL elite coaches win a NC. You are misinterpreting a simple argument and statement by attributing the championship as the causer of eliteness when championship is just a measure used to gauge and measure eliteness.

Harbaugh isn't elite. He's a very good coach but not elite.

What porous arguments. Comparing the resumes and results of Mark Richt and Jim Harbaugh at their respective coaching stages is asinine. Harbaugh has coached 8 years in college football. 7 of those 8 years were at the San Diego Toreros and Stanford, both teams who have NEVER won a college football championship. This is Harbaugh's first year at a school with adequate resources and an adequate recruiting base. This is his first year at a big time football program in which other external factors won't impede his coaching abilities. Richt was at Georgia for 15+ years, a school with a huge resource and talent base. The fact that he couldn't win a championship in 15 years and has only won the SEC championship twice proves that he is not 'ELITE.'

Pay close attention.

1. Nowhere did I compare Harbaugh with Richt.
2. Dude, and by dude I mean YOU, asked for ONE example of an elite coach who hasnt won a ship. Harbaugh is that guy.

We haven't had that in over 15 years
5th highest active winning percentage amongst current coaches
Overall record 145-51
83-37 record in SEC conference play....
19-4 record against acc oppents
9 seasons with Over 10 wins...
Over .500 record in ranked games
9-5 in bowl games
Elite top 5 hc recruiter
Deep inroads into Florida, Ga, north and South Carolina
Since 2002 according to manny Navarro,
Miami has produced 81 draft picks 24 1st round picks compared to richts 79 draft picks with 12 first rounders being at Uga...

3rd most wins by a coach EVER in his first 15 seasons as a head coach

Elite offensive mind and coach

Good things coming for Miami man. All we needed was coaching and we got it...
richt wont say it but he wants a roster full of his kids. he is constantly talking about freshmen and depth issues. we dont have
enough.

Either you got a hella good memory, or you got hella good query skillz.

But yeah @brock, I was fooled too dawg.

I see why Georgia yanked his OC creds.
that was more because he wanted to play fast florida style football and not bulldog football. look at his record early on at UGA, no reason to pull
his creds.

Orgeron found a better QB in two months than Richt could find in 2 years. As a Canes fan, this hurts me deep.

15 years at Georgia, won two SEC chips, and none after Saban came to the league. Look what Kirby is doing there.

Elite coaches don't get fired.

Their QB sucked tbh. We stacked the box and couldn't stop the run game. Feagles 20 yard punts ensured that any mistake on D equaled touchdown or a trip to the redzone.. They were working with short fields all night.

But we were in a position where we just needed to be relevant again. Richt got us there. And we're kinda hitting that turning point where we no longer want to just be relevant, but we want to be Elite. Didn't we all predict this?

At least, that was my perspective. Richt got us out of gutter. Now that we have the capability, we need to get an Alpha OC.

Agreed. I don't think he's amazing, but you also gotta consider he had barely any talent around him. If he was OUR qb, and had a full offseason, he would be solid in my eyes.

Solid being better than Rosier. Duh.

Or get totally outcoached by Ed freakin Orgeron, have persistent, recurring stupid penalties, stupid play, terrible special teams, zero improvement QB, constant gashing of the defense, etc, etc, etc. in year 3.

Let this be a lesson to all. As long as our incompetent BOT are pulling the strings you should always approach every new hire with EXTREME skepticism. These ******** don't have a clue as to what it takes to run a successful football program.

The Excuse Train has already started!

JohnZarrilli said it best:

"Elite coaches win championships. He's a very good coach, but not elite."

That's why Urban Meyer was able to win a NC with a 3rd String QB! Richt is good, not elite!

I miss you

Crazy how the detractors comments were removed and folks were banned for actually having this wild idea that maybe Richt was fired from UGA bc.....HE SUCKED.
