We haven't had that in over 15 years
5th highest active winning percentage amongst current coaches
Overall record 145-51
83-37 record in SEC conference play....
19-4 record against acc oppents
9 seasons with Over 10 wins...
Over .500 record in ranked games
9-5 in bowl games
Elite top 5 hc recruiter
Deep inroads into Florida, Ga, north and South Carolina
Since 2002 according to manny Navarro,
Miami has produced 81 draft picks 24 1st round picks compared to richts 79 draft picks with 12 first rounders being at Uga...

3rd most wins by a coach EVER in his first 15 seasons as a head coach

Elite offensive mind and coach

Good things coming for Miami man. All we needed was coaching and we got it...

If Richt can keep our talent, in the likes of Dalvin Cook, Calvin Ridley, Isaiah McKenzie home, then I like out chances in those close games!!

Elite coaches win championships. He's a very good coach, but not elite.

Where did that idea come from? Obviously that's the goal, but winning more than like 5 guys doesn't make you elite? What if you had the second highest winning percentage for 5 years but didn't win a championship? Obviously you'd be a disappointment, but would you not be elite?

(used with a plural verb) persons of the highest class:
Only the elite were there.

Is there a special "highest class" that only includes NC winners? Is Larry Coker in it?

Okay, so 5 divisional wins and 2 SEC wins is not JJ level. But he didn't have Miami recruiting grounds. Now he has Miami AND North Florida/Georgia. Let's ***** about him when we're 11-1 and just missing the playoffs. Right now, I am just happy the bleeding has stopped and we finally have a coach who wins at a high level for the first time in more than a decade.

i wonder if he had issues with the AD because he said he wants to be "hands on" and "call plays again". i also heard he was pushed to hire pruitt

They say he was forced into a "ceo" role at Uga a couple of years ago at Uga so maybe

He is not elite. He is not Saban or Meyer. He is very very good, maybe even great really. What killed Richt was being stripped of his play calling and hands on approach. 2001-2005, Richt won the East 3 times and the SEC 2 times. 2006, Richt is told to be a CEO, stripped of his play calling and hands on approach. Since then his teams struggled, but still finished in the top 10/15 more times than not.

We are getting the hands on Richt that will be calling the offense and leading the charge. I'm excited. Richt and his staff are a tremendous upgrade over the last few staffs. Richt is like 108-10 against teams that finish the year unranked. Richt has 2 losses in his career to teams finishing under .500. 2 losses in 15 years. Golden had more than that in his 4.5 years here. Richt is also 9-5 in bowl games as well as 19-4 against the ACC, though 13-2 against GT, he is still 3-1 against Clemson including their beat down last year.

Speaking of last year, UGA finished the season ranked 13th(Playoff Rankings) and beat 17th Clemson 45-21, 16th Mizzou 34-0, 19th Auburn 34-7, and 21st Louisville 37-14. That is their end of year rankings and that is more wins in the year than Golden had all of his time here against teams that finished ranked.

Our teams are not going to be any less talented than his Georgia teams. In fact, they may even be slightly more talented due to this region being slightly better than Georgia for recruiting. Our schedule is going to be easier than what he dealt with the majority of his time at UGA. He will be playing 2-3 ranked teams a year on average. For a guy that wins 98% of his games against unranked teams, that means we should easily expect 9-10 wins right there. I really do believe we can win 11 games a year consistently with Richt. I truly do.

don't forget how dominant he was as FSU offensive coordinator under bowden
