After watching what we have had and taught these last couple yrs on the Oline this kid would be downright crazy to go elsewhere…

“The schools that are coming hardest for me right now are Miami, Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennesseeand Ohio State,” Matthews said. “There are a few others but those are the ones standing out right now.
Matthews said his next unofficial trips will be to Georgia and Alabama. He doesn’t have any official visit dates set yet but said Miami, A&M, Oregon and Ohio State all look good for official trips right now.
“With Miami, I really like coach Cristobal and coach (Alex) Mirabal (OL coach),” Matthews said. “It’s a good staff and I really like the vibe at Miami.
“A&M is similar, I’m big on relationships and they have a great staff that is really pushing hard. I want to see Florida again as well and meet the new staff there. I was able to meet the new OL coach recently and I want to meet coach Sumrall and the rest of the staff and feel the environment.”
Matthews said he plans to take at least 4-5 of his official visits and then lock in his commitment sometime during the summer

Sounds like he wants to enjoy his recruiting process lol. I'd love him in the class and I get that symbolically, as a local 5 star, he's a big get, but if it turns out he's a headache in recruiting and goes elsewhere, I fully trust Mario and Mirabal to get the O-line right.

I wish JJ was here, and he was the biggest miss in the last 5-10 years. We just beat him on the field. Our plan B guys with this staff are top players. If Mario misses on a top 100 guy he chases a different one in that tier instead of dropping down to a top 300 player like the old staffs did.

I'd say J-Roc if I had to pick one.
Julius is a great player, I just don't think he has any elite skill-set that's going to yield results on the next level. (for where we're trying to go)
