Not directed at you but certainly there are other schools with a good OL track record. Bell becoming a day two pick in round three is some of the most impressive development I’ve seen because I thought that dude sucked when they got him.Let's make this clear, since we have people here who think unless you gargle Mario's nuts, you are not a fan.
This discussion was NEVER about our ability to develop OL. It was about whether other schools can develop OL, specifically A&M, period.
I brought up A&Ms ability to develop OL, because we had posters saying Matthews would be dumb to go to A&M instead of Miami, as he would not get developed there. Well, based on the data that is not an accurate assessment.
The reality is this, nobody knows who can/will develop Matthews better. Only time will be the judge of that. What I can say for certain is that Matthews choosing A&M if based on developing OL is not a bad choice.
People acting as if Mario/Alex are the only coaches/programs who can develop OL is laughable. Or saying without question they are the best developers of OL is also comical. Between 8 years as OU and UM, they have had 9 total OL drafted. 6 of those 9 went in the 5th and later. The other 3 included 2 first rounders and 1 3rd rounder (Bell), he was not a 2nd rounder by the way.
In comparison, during that same 8 year stretch;
Alabama has had 6 1st round picks at OL and 13 drafted overall.
Georgia has also had 6 1st round picks at OL 18 and drafted overall.
Ohio State has had 4 1st round picks at OL and 15 drafted overall.
Point is this, OL can actually go to other programs and expect to get developed just as good, if not better than had they chose to attend UM. Doesn't take away from how good Mario and Alex are at developing OL, but they aren't the only ones who can develop OL.
haha D-Money will have the open the podcast show with ...13 posts and counting....We need to start requiring IQ tests before allowing ppl to post on the board.
Exactly you are a perfect leader - you and ibis. And I’m adding Inday to assist on the admin side. Lol
Bell got drafted off of size and potential. And he tested fairly well. But his run blocking is basura and in pass blocking he had help on his side around 60% of the time. Eagles reached. Not directed at you but certainly there are other schools with a good OL track record. I posted before last season that I didn’t see why Mario is considered elite at OL development. Then we go to the Natty with Bell capably anchoring the left side.
Iowa, ND and aTm can all develop. The thing is that Miami certainly isn’t any lesser of a developer of OL talent than aTm and I think we were better last season than they were. So if it isn’t money, It’s perplexing to people as to why a local would choose to go to college station over coral gables.
I don’t disagree but they did a good job with making him serviceable. They maximized his abilities. Thats a stellar coaching job by them IMO.Bell got drafted off of size and potential. Right so you just post on here to trash the program and are nowhere to be found when things are going well lmao, exactly the point. Are you legitimatley lacking a chromosome? Again, only dumb asses like yourself believe by acknowledging others successes, somehow equates to tearing down a program you're a fan of.
And no, I wasn't here during our run. I was actually in AZ and TX for the Cotton Bowl and Fiesta Bowl, than wrapped it up at Hard Rock for the NC game. Where were you? Watching from your mom's basement with Mario's personally *** filled, orange and green goggles?
And oh, each of our guys on the OL were drafted ahead of theirs? Funny, I could have sworn they had a 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder drafted on the OL. Somehow your math isn't mathing. I'll chalk it up to the lack of that chromosome.

I literally posted the “math” dummy lmao. Do I need to link the post you immediately commented on trying to tear down Mario+Mirabal cause you can’t stop hating the team/coaches?
+rep for bringing back the word “Gaylord”You have to be a true gaylord to just post what you did. Truly.
I just stated a fact. You should be the one getting getting Elkos **** out of your mouth, cause it seems to be cutting off the oxygen to your brain and you cant think straight. Did us beating them the way we did turn you on?
SOFT
I went to all of them, including the national title game, and I think you post like a mopey ****.Lol. Show me a playoff game you attended you f-u---ck rag.
The same math where you said all our OL were drafted ahead of A&Ms? You ******* moron.
lol Just don’t really use maggot+rep for bringing back the word “Gaylord”
