the NIL that we offer isnt close? what are they planning to do with the money if not spending on the OL? could they not move him to RT once Samson leaves?

We’re shooting our shot (best offer) early and teams are waiting until the last minute to counter offer with their best offer. The on field part of the staff cooking with hot grease!

But….If money not an issue, we definitely need a few more tweaks on the financial aspect OFF the field.
 
Yeah the days of 40-50 million dollar rosters have arrived. Can't nobody convince me that A&M deal isn't higher. These players and agents use the Miami as a front runner leading up to a decision to get a better deal

Man, my pitch to any offensive lineman that want to go to A&M would be to remind that recruit of A&Ms lineman talking s*** about being able to handle Miami's DL and then getting absolutely embarrassed. Clearly, they have issues with overconfidence and coaching.

If you have to give Mark way more than you gave Cantwell, what issues do you think that will cause? Im not trying to make excuses for Mario and staff, just I am living in reality better than some of the constant complainers here.
We are never going to outbid them, they will keep raising the value over us. Plus do you move Cantwell over to RT to make Mark happy if that is an issue? I dont like that option either.
This is a tough spot and we want him bad. Maybe it will work out but those are tough obstacles to overcome in my opinion.

Asking prices are going up every year. Just like cantwell was paid significantly more than Francis/samson out of high school. Enough with the money excuses when we hype up our collective constantly.

This staff struggles to close. They are persistent so flips are always on table but there is no reason why we should be talking about flipping these guys after feeling so good about them. This is a trend at this point and this trend should not be happening after our run last season and more importantly the draft a few days ago. We’re not recruiting like the big boys when we should be

Matthews doesn’t even play LT in hs. Look at his film he is at RT. RT is open when he gets on campus with mccoy leaving
 
It would be a monumental miss just as the Cook miss was. Just as the Jacobs miss was.

Not because it would affect our roster or chances of winning, because we truly will be alright without them.

But they are misses BECAUSE THE STAFF WANTED THESE GUYS AND POURED CONSIDERABLE RESOURCES INTO THEIR RECRUITMENT.

There's no way to flip it.

I'm not sure what the staff's strategy is, but I sure hope they have one.

I understand this is not the NFL and we don’t have long term contracts but still, how does the NFL deal with this? Never sign another player to a higher contract?
