Mark Fletcher SR HL

hes probably playing against the best schedule int he country
Exactly.

A lot of time you have to take HS highlight tapes with a grain of salt. Anyone can look good going up against a bunch of future accountants. Fletcher is going against more D1 kids in those highlights than any other running back recruit from this class. He’s lighting up top programs.

What makes him unique is his blocking and recieving. He’s like an HBack who can also run. As a runner, he reminds me of Tavion Thomas from Utah.
His feet reminds of Bettis at ND and his early days in the league with the Rams. You watch in amazement at all his quick movements in the hole and him shaking guys in space. It never made sense how agile he was.

Speed is my issue here, I don't care if he played HS ball in sfla or planet Venus. Speed is different in cfb compared to HS. Let's see if he proves me wrong but not my favorite back, I hated the Thad take thought he was too slow for D1. I wish him luck though, can't wait to see CJs film.
Lmao what?
He much faster than Thad! And Thads problem was not that he isn’t fast enough, he lacked the burst for what he thought he could do. He is a 245 LB back who in his mind is 190. The problem is he could not execute the moves he wanted to perform fast enough. This guy has speed and burst and gets behind his pads with vision. Complete back! And let’s be honest, he’s doing this against the best of the best in HS. His natural progression with age will have him doing it against college kids in no time. There maybe a learning curve no doubt but when he can play fast he will be a monster. RB is the easiest position to scout IMO.

I'm not saying this guy is really fast, but he does cover a lot of ground in very little time. He gets going downhill in a hurry, and that is a great trait to have. He's running hard **** near immediately. That's what you call tools a coach can work with.

Long speed is plenty especially at his size. His acceleration looks very good so he gets to his top gear pretty quickly it looks like.

None of the guys have the contact balance that Fletcher and Johnson have.

Citizen might be close, but Chaney has lost that with all of the lower leg injuries. It could just be a confidence thing right now, but as of this moment it’s not there.
Wrong before the last injury Chaney was looking like the best back on the team. @Cribby mentioned it. Chaney is when healthy the most complete back and will prove it if he can stay on the field.

Been waiting for this to drop. Note that he is going against some of the top teams in the nation.

Fletcher has a chance to start by the end of this season, health permitting.

One of the spots where you can play early if you have Fletcher's makeup, ie size, hands, can block, etc. He should thrive in this offense and early.

I do agree Thad needs to get moving and with a better OL that helps for sure. If u get him moving in the backfield as a defense u won that rep already.

Not a fan of Fletcher either. I don’t see the short area explosiveness and light feet. One guy that I’m keeping a lookout for is Andrew Paul from Georgia. If Fletcher could be like him he would be deadly but he is neither of the above attributes mentioned.
He could prove us wrong but I always have to be prepared not every recruit will be a good player. I have tbh when I look at a prospect and ofc I could be wrong and I'm wrong sometimes and I'm good with that

further proof that fans on this board have NO FN CLUE! This backfield with Thad and Rooster with Gaynor blocking should be good this year...
i think the goal is for tate martell and lingard to build up a big enough lead using the dan enos offense that we can get the young guys some burn in the second half

With the upgrades to the line I cant wait to see who emerges as RB1.... An argument could be made for 4 different backs to start.

The variable is us having an air threat. If teams don't respect our passing game, it will be that much harder for our RB1.

That's a big deal for a running back want for me is explosiveness and speed like Cook. One cut gone that's what I prefer. Everytime I watch HS they run away from high schoolers (no matter where the HS ball is played) it's different in D1. If u put Thad back in HS now he runs for 1000 easy but in college nah. Game has to translate to college and that's my question, he looks fast in HS but speed those defenders up and guys are bigger. Just like the Hurley Brown video u have to put them in the ACC around ACC guys that's how u evaluate.

My only thing is he looks slow for college not for HS he's running away from dudes. But I picture him in college and I don't see the hype, also guys that size if they have strength and speed bama and UGA come knocking. I don't think they knocked on this kids door and I trust those schools RB evals especially bama.

I hope he proves me wrong but I'm more excited to see Chris Johnson, my only knock on CJ is size and can he break arm tackles at this level.
I agree with this completely. I hope he comes here and blows away my expectations but pre-injury Citizen to me seemed the better prospect by quite a bit. People that have seen Fletcher play a lot rave about him though and OSU loves speed.

Very impressive. Had to skip around but looks fluid & hands seem naturally soft. What are his actual measurements? Big frame kid. Speed? Looks quick. Get the pass pro down early & he should see the field.

Also a great point

I do love the combo of Fletcher and CJ coming in when at one point in time it looked like we had zero shot with either one
