Mark Fletcher SR HL

People are sleeping on his feet for that size . He also has great hands. MF will get plenty of burn.
Reminds me of Najee Harris with a little more speed. That said, I think he gets more efficient at this level and looks more like a Mark Walton. He has special feet, but he needs to be more efficient with his movements to stay north/south and run with a good pad-level like Frank used to.

What makes him unique is his blocking and recieving. He’s like an HBack who can also run. As a runner, he reminds me of Tavion Thomas from Utah.

Last year Houston RB's caught 60 passes, 46 in '21.

Compared to Miami: 31 last season and 33 in '21.

Those who have complained about a lack of easy RB checkdowns and screens will be satisfied.

Dawson calls a ton of RB and WR screens and from the tape seems to be extremely effective.

bruh just my .02 but occasionally your opinion should be withheld for the benefit of the team/player. Like your opinion is going to garner a **** ton more attention than anyone else saying "Fletcher has a chance to start"

Like does he have a chance? Sure, why not. But with Parrish, Don and Citizen (all health permitting) returning, he has an uphill battle then if he isnt starting but also not getting a lot of burn, fans will come down hard on him because people in the offseason or greentree hyped him up. Now fans are crushing a kids confidence and making him mad all over ish he had no true control over. Setting the bar unrealistically high.

Call it what it is. He is a very good back that came on strong his senior year and did his thing against some of the best defenders in the nation and he should rush for a ton of TDs for us over the next 3-4 years. Trying to put a "starter" label on him year 1 before he has set foot on greentree is unnecessary. Now I know a rebuttal is you said "he has a chance" but that is not what the masses are going to read and run with.
Or maybe people can just try and think for themselves

That's a big deal for a running back want for me is explosiveness and speed like Cook. One cut gone that's what I prefer. Everytime I watch HS they run away from high schoolers (no matter where the HS ball is played) it's different in D1. If u put Thad back in HS now he runs for 1000 easy but in college nah. Game has to translate to college and that's my question, he looks fast in HS but speed those defenders up and guys are bigger. Just like the Hurley Brown video u have to put them in the ACC around ACC guys that's how u evaluate.

My only thing is he looks slow for college not for HS he's running away from dudes. But I picture him in college and I don't see the hype, also guys that size if they have strength and speed bama and UGA come knocking. I don't think they knocked on this kids door and I trust those schools RB evals especially bama.

I hope he proves me wrong but I'm more excited to see Chris Johnson, my only knock on CJ is size and can he break arm tackles at this level.
His first three steps are quick. He may not have that top end but this dude looks agile. I would think he is running away from D1 players in these clips.

If Mario gets the OL to where he wants it this kids sophomore and junior will be scary. He looks like he’s gonna be a problem for defenses here

Not a fan of Fletcher either. I don’t see the short area explosiveness and light feet. One guy that I’m keeping a lookout for is Andrew Paul from Georgia. If Fletcher could be like him he would be deadly but he is neither of the above attributes mentioned.

Once a couple Wrs get 40 yard scores under their belt Mark should have favorable numbers in the box.

With this OL Mario is building the running game should be solid.

I agree with a lot of your points. For me with a Thad they saw him in practice and knew he didn't have it and the coaches knew. It's like a draft pick bust they pick them and they know if they made the wrong pick when they around guys like them. Cool is rare for sure, I wanted R.Young but he chose bama I thought that was the best back this cycle. Alot of guys are fast but straight line fast and **** without explosiveness short area burst and agility. If Chris Johnson Jr was 62 215 he would be a 5 star and it's fair to label him a 4 cause size matters..pause.
Yeah I see what your saying some backs who aren't the fastest can make up for it with explosiveness. Who knows lol we all take our best guesses. MF is a back I'm excited about for a lot of reasons. Hopefully we have better luck from an injury point of view in that room
