Mark Fletcher CFP Highlights

Always had good vision on the first level, then his size would get him a few more yards. In the playoffs his 2nd level decisiveness and vision took a leap

Hopefully he can carry this into this season, his nfl stock could rise alot from it
It’s this. Watch his long run in the A&M game…hit the hole hard, was running towards the outside put one foot down and cut inside of the WR blocking with no stutter steps or hesitation. Same thing with an earlier run that game that went about 20 yards. Same thing with the long TD in national championship.

Remember the Stanford or Syracuse game where he broke through the line and was running left and if just kept running straight he would’ve scored…instead he cut back inside looking to run defender over when he didn’t need to and got tackled. That wasn’t happening in the playoffs.

I think it showed how not overusing him throughout the season paid off. He looked really fresh, fast and powerful throughout the playoff run. Proves the value of having a deep RB room.

I've said it a few times, it was definitely this but also the injury was a blessing in disguise.

He played in the first 8 games, and averaged 15.6 carries per game.

He then didn't play at all in games 9 or 10, only carried the ball 6 times in game 11, and only 10 times in game 12.

So for 8 weeks, he got the ball almost 16 times a game.

And then for the final 4 games, he got the ball a TOTAL of 16 times.

He was fresh as **** starting against A&M, he only had touched the ball 16 times in the previous 6 weeks (Game 8--SMU--was on November 1st. A&M was on December 20th).

Everytime I hear that call I think he about to stiff DB in dirt and house it, lol..
I still side-eye him due to the comment he made right before that one.
"MIAMI'S LAST 4 WINS WERE BY AN AVERAGE OF 17 POINTS, BUT AGAINST WEAK COMPETITION"

Good points and I totally forgot about the injury!

On that run against Indiana where he was running away from people like a freight train I swear he looked like Derrick Henry. Where Henry would get to the second level and his long speed shocked people cause he was 240. Looked similar to me.

No I’m not saying he’s Derrick Henry. Just stylistically
My daughter said the same thing while we were watching the playoffs - especially that TAMU game.

100% this.

The 3rd & 4th runs in these highlights vs TAMU - you still see Fletcher's tendency to want to put on the breaks and cutback/dance.

On almost all CFP runs he stopped doing that and just got forward with a purpose.

He got so much better by simplifying his running style & just running straight ahead.

That last run against A&M is only to be surpassed by the shot of his mom in the crowd saying "thats my baby!". Incredible moment all around.
