Mark and Jon Richt to visit Weldon on Thursday

Miami caliber lol. You guys love throwing that term around

He has offers from the following:
South Carolina
Kentucky
Wake Forest
Toledo
Temple
USF

Not to mention, his family's relationship with Richt could be playing a major role on the offer. That's why I'm asking. I hope he blows up but is the question that ridiculous?

Offers aren't everything, especially for QBs who usually commit early And schools typically have their qb committed as juniors.
For Example, Jared Goff only technically had offers from Cal and like Boise St, but its only really because he's a Cal legacy and committed there as a Junior. Also I'm not sure if Kaaya even had UCLA/USC offers, did he?
Came in really late...

Baker Mayfield part 2?

Not even remotely the same kind of players.

Very similar skill set but we're not going to be running a gimmick spread offense to inflate the QBs stats to the level of Mayfield.

No, not a similar skill set. Weldon is a bid kid with a big arm - Mayfield is small w/average at best arm strength. Both are good athletes but Mayfield is more of a freelance athlete at QB.

Really hope Kaaya comes back so we can have a Allison, Perry, Weldon competition.

I'm sure Malik will either go back to baseball or transfer. I'm sure Sherriffs would make a move as well.

He missed all of his junior year w/injury. When he chose Miami he told other schools he was shutting down his recruitment & is an early enrollee.

Thank you for that information. I'm not 100% sold that is the case but it's definitely a good theory.

Excited about the competition thats going to happen with the 2 stud qbs we have coming in and Alison.

This will be one of the biggest differences from last staff to current staff. With Richt personally handling the O and QBs we should have a stud in every class from here forward.

What's your point? They took advantage of a team that was defeated and threw in the towel? I hope you're not implying that Kentucky is in Miami's level recruiting wise.

Love having Weldon and Perry in the mix this year. Completely restocking the depth at QB and giving Allison some competition when it's time.

They're similar but you're right Weldon has a bigger arm and Mayfield is a better runner. They're still similar. I think Weldon is closer to Chad Kelly but we'll see how he develops and how he'll be used. I doubt he or Nkosi will run the same stuff as Kaaya

Just like ref bias, the other thing that seems to be a Miami thing is players not getting more love from recruiting services if leaning towards Miami. I see it all the time, guy is a 3 star miami lean, then gets says he is an Alabama or FSU lean and suddenly the exact same player is 4-5 star. Weldon seems to be a Cane lock no matter what, so the usual suspects aren't making a bag drop. Looks like he's the real deal to me.

My issue is what is Miami caliber at this point? Miami has been **** for about a decade

Well, Perry has been offered by Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, VT, etc. He's being recruited like a QB that should be playing with the big boys. If you can't differentiate from Perry's and Weldon's demand from top tier programs then idk what to tell you.
