Mario.

Vacuum?
Win / Loss Record: 5-7 to 7-6 to 10-3
NFL draftees:
2022: 1 (Ford R7), 2023: 3 (Stevenson R2 / Mallory R5 / Ivey R7), 2024: 4 (Kinchens R3 / Davis R7 / Lee R7 / Williams R7). 2025: TBD but Ward is going R1.
I was talking about his coaches

But since you brought it up. How many of these guys were recruited to Miami by Mario?

Mario is a good HC. He isnt elite yet, but he is our best HC since Butch.

The most important aspect of a HC is talent aquisition. No talent no win at highest level.

People say his recruiting is sorta nullified becayse of NIL. Well guess what Head Coach has the best connections to Miami booster money? Its because of Mario you get a Cam Ward, Damien Martinez, Carsen Beck in portal. Mario did sign 2 best classs of 247 era back to back.

He has shown adaptibility as a HC. He has shown growth. In this wild new CFB era he has us in that top 12 mix.

BTW - Butch was a terrible game day coach as well.

He is by far the best coach we've had in 20 years ..but his conservative approach in second half is ******* killing me. Doing that gruden **** with the raiders
Is he though? Give Richt (when healthy) the resources Mario has and I think the results would be better. Remember Richt got us to an ACC championship game in his second season with not nearly the resources Mario has.

It's not just about resources. Mario has a fundamental understanding of how to build a roster. I have great respect for what Richt did here, and I wish that we could have had him sooner.

If we are comparing two coaches body of work at Miami, Richts was more impressive with less resources than Marios.

Trajectory is important, and I think we're on a better trajectory now than we were with Richt. More money would not have changed that, IMO.
I agree to extent only because Richt was in failing health. You say Mario knows how to build a program. How many coordinators and position coaches has he gone through since he's been at Miami? He's had a #1 NFL QB and couldn't make the playoffs and not even the ACC championship game which Richt did in his second season with Diaz as his defensive coordinator.

I said roster, not program. The 2022 roster was in abysmal shape outside of a handful of great players. The 2016 roster was a much better starting point.

But I don't really see the point in going around and around on this right after such an important win.

We'll know by season's end if Mario is the real deal or if he's just another guy.
