Thank you, OP. I was beginning to think people might not be holding Mario accountable.
If Manny makes the ACCCG before Mario it's a great example for WTFery re MiamiRhett and Manny have both lost 3 games so far. Not a good example.
Agree. But guess what. He's not making it this year.If Manny makes the ACCCG before Mario it's a great example for WTFery re Miami
How can you watch this team week after week and year after year lose to inferior opponents and think Mario is the right guy. We routinely get worse as the year goes on and continually make stupid mistakes, that is not a hallmark of a well coached team. Not many coaches out there that are flawless.
Still has a clear shot if Duke wins out.Agree. But guess what. He's not making it this year.
Lashlee didn’t embarrass us. We did it to ourselves. THAT is what has everyone so angry.Rhett Lashlee embarrassed Miami without nearly the talent-plus he had several starters out with injuries-
Manny Diaz has a better record in the ACC-That Duke QB is a baller-We lose to Duke oh boy-
Hopefully we beat Syracuse first-
NC St with CJ will be a problem-
Pitt at Pitt with that freshman QB and former Miramar dynamo Desmond Reid who will cause more problems than Issac Brown.
The second half of what you said is spot on. We get worse as the season goes along. The first half of what you wrote is debateable though. This is no defense of Mario - almost all coaches lose to inferior opponents. Not like we do necessarily, but a couple posts back, someone reminded us of Lane losing to a 4 win Kentucky team last year. FSU rolled Alabama in week 1. Happens every week. How can you watch this team week after week and year after year lose to inferior opponents and think Mario is the right guy. He ain't perfect, but he's certainly had more success in a tougher conference than Mario has had in the lowly ACC. 30-17 in the SEC vs. 14-14 in the ACCHe choked away the 2nd most talented roster in 2024 because he lost to a 4 win Kentucky team and a UF team that Miami drilled.
Wasn’t Butch Davis only hired because he was Miami’s former DC and recruiting prowess?
We haven’t had a real coaching search since Golden
Busboys at Waffle House have to at least interview first
We essentially hired a less successful Richt for twice the price without even putting an ad in the newspaper
I think this is a cop out personallyCorrect me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the big money donors who were ****-bent on hiring Mario without looking at other candidates?
Indeed. I keep hearing the insiders talk about the lack of discipline from players such as not subbing out penalties. That's all on Mario you have to bench these guys if they don't want to listen. They claimed we would have top 10 classes every year we are not having those recruiting classes. They can't recruit QB. They recruit talent and don't play them. This isn't the 2000s or 90s when you don't play young guys this is nil era you pay these dudes play them. The most damning thing to be is mismanagement in game. I don't think Carson is the problem. The plays he gets is the problem. You don't pay a QB 7 figures for him to be a game manager. Mario is who he has always been. He didn't learn enough from his time with Saban and it shows year in year out. I would rather have **** near any other head coach in the ACC than Mario. We just can’t seem to get it right. We once enjoyed a long string of dynamic and innovative head coaches. It’s been a very long string of bad coaches lately with Mario being the latest. Who is to say that we get it right if Mario is out.
We always make the lazy hire since Coker to present. Mario was a lazy hire. He was hired because of his recruiting value and nothing more. We failed to consider other factors and intangibles. We failed to do good research on the person. Mario has had the problems we all see now in all of his stops as a head coach, but we only focused on recruiting and made the lazy hire. The recruits will come if you can coach especially at Miami.

Not disagreeing with you. Just saying, at that time, the athletic department ceded power of firing of Manny and hiring of Mario to the donors.I think this is a cop out personally
Mario isn’t the only human on earth that could raise money at Miami but somehow that’s what we are being force fed
We’ve got mega donor CEOs why lot just let one of the Mas brothers be our head coach? Our OL certainly isn’t dominant so what exactly does Mario bring to the table?
Yeah the crazy part is I believe Mario interviewed us basicallyNot disagreeing with you. Just saying, at that time, the athletic department ceded power of firing of Manny and hiring of Mario to the donors.
