Some had torches and pitchforks preordered after the SMU game. I didn’t put a down payment at the time but said I would if we lost to Syracuse or an equivalent in embarrassing fashion. Saved me some money.

I get that people don’t like McAfee cause he’s a bit over the top and on top of that he’s a punter so he doesn’t really add football in sight and he does have a frat boy sense of humor. But keep in mind that the rest of the crew outside of Galloway has a deep appreciation for us like Kirk knows what it means to have Miami nationally relevant and Desmond along with Fowler both living in Coconut Grove, and have a standing invite to practice. Mario doesn’t keep the media out as much as people think he does a lot of the reason why opinions could change is because he pulls back the curtain on the program, they might not be able to record practice or say when they were there until after the fact, but he’s very open with the media. He just won’t tell them much about his team, but he’s pretty open.
 
McAz$$ was ESECPN’s attempt to get edgy after the Barstool Van Talk fiasco and knowing Corso was pretty much done for Gameday. They also knew that eventually Endeavor (TKO) would make a deal with them and McAz$$ has been involved with WWE since the pandemic, so easy tie in with that property.

McAz$$ does have a limited shelf life, the shtick will get old. Indeed, he could never top the diving platform stunt the whole rest of the Gameday season. Maybe he will last as long as Berman, but even his ego allowed interaction at a somewhat serious level and was most happy (albeit not as talented as others) calling baseball games.

I give Pat until about 2030, unless they don't resign him 2028.
