Mario vs. Pat McAfee Post Game

Absolutely right. Pat was just a punter with a goofy personality. Now look where is.

He does get a bit cringe and goofy, but it’s all a show. He’s enjoying himself. Can’t fault him for that. I’m sure we love when he’s pro Miami. We all laughed at his jump off the high dive when GameDay was at Miami for the Florida game.

Pat is there to entertain. They have Nick Saban for football acumen. I used to think Nick didn’t really care for McAfee but now I think he gets a kick out of him. Nick takes the football part seriously but he understands this is television, not the sideline. McAfee and Herbstreit often mention Saban coming to them and asking their opinion on what he’s doing.

I’ve watched Pats content since Barstool. He is who he is. Doesn’t take most things too serious. As you said just having fun. But anyone that knows him says he’s salt of the earth people. Just a blue collar kid from PA that done well.

If you dont like its humor thats fair, but I think he has reenergized and in a way saved gameday after it was going down. His rants prior to his final gameday picks is must watch TV and far superior to that FSU guy.

McAz$$ was ESECPN’s attempt to get edgy after the Barstool Van Talk fiasco and knowing Corso was pretty much done for Gameday. They also knew that eventually Endeavor (TKO) would make a deal with them and McAz$$ has been involved with WWE since the pandemic, so easy tie in with that property.

McAz$$ does have a limited shelf life, the shtick will get old. Indeed, he could never top the diving platform stunt the whole rest of the Gameday season. Maybe he will last as long as Berman, but even his ego allowed interaction at a somewhat serious level and was most happy (albeit not as talented as others) calling baseball games.

I give Pat until about 2030, unless they don't resign him 2028.

IM TIRED OF IT ALREADY HES 40...the frat boy stuff is beyond over the top at that age. Like i said the rest of his show members are also weirdos other than Butler.

i almost always change the channel at the start of the show with the duffus dont know if its him or someone else reading the policy of the show like lou holtz...whats funny about that?.

Way too over the top, look at me, not the players/teams BS. Give me Herbstreit and some knowledge any day over a clown show. Glad he’s done well for himself and is self-made as some have said … but still think his act is goofy. He’s perfect for the WWE though.

And Mario was having fun with it... not stone faced, too serious Mario... actually enjoying himself, much looser Mario --- that is a good thing all around.
