Coaching Mario talking about the DC hiring process...

God what a far cry from the kind of hiring processes we’ve been used to over the past several years. This is precisely the right way to do it if you want to get the right hire the first time around.

Meticulousness is great, that kind of quality is just one of the many things that separates the good coaches from the great coaches imo. Breath of fresh air!

Seems like most of the coaches on his previous staffs have moved up in position after being on his staff.

Great find OP. I always thought Manny’s D was a bit unsound. Relied too much on one position group - the DL. If the DL wasn’t being effective, it left the backside extremely vulnerable, particularly with his propensity for horrible blitzing.

Mario talks a big game… let’s see if he can back it up.
Has he really talked much since being hired? All he's done is sign, N. Kelly, C. Moss, and Skinner. Put us in position to land an IOL and S. Stewart. All players we had no shot with under the previous regime. Seems his results are already doing the talking.

100% worth the listen. Pretty clear what Mario learned at Miami during his playing days and at Alabama as an assistant have shaped him. What we're doing? How we're doing it? And why we're doing it? These are fundamental questions where everybody has to be on the same page. He noted that his DC has to be a recruiter. Has to do the right things on and off the field. Wants a personality that has a real presence, too. Incredibly intensive and exhaustive interview process to find the right fit. Any Miami fan should be excited after listening to this one.

Says the guy with the Tate Martell avatar?

Mario doesn't do any talking—outside of saying there's a lot of work to do and it's time to get to work.

Says it's not about tweets, social media, swag and chatter about being "back"—it's about emulating proven processes and then busting *** to be great again.

How is that talking a "big game".
